Arnold Schwarzenegger continues filming Santa movie The Man With The Bag in NYC amid LA fires close to his home

Arnold Schwarzenegger continued to film his Santa Claus movie, The Man With The Bag in NYC on Wednesday after his Brentwood mansion was threatened by the LA fires.

The action icon, 77, sported a dyed white beard, festive jumper, bobble hat and a red coat as he filmed a Santa Con after party scene in Manhattan, days after thanking firefighters and emergency personnel for fighting the fires ‘around the clock.’

He completed his ensemble with a snowflake print scarf as he was seen with co-star Alan Ritchson, 42 and a host of other Santas.

The superstar’s Brentwood, California mansion was under threat from the Pacific Palisades fire which is now at 22 per cent containment.

The star previously took to X to thank fans for their concern amid the disaster, writing: ‘I really appreciate all of the kind messages and concern. But don’t worry about me, or my animals, and certainly not my house.

‘I would rather you focus all of your thoughts on these heroic firefighters and first responders who are fighting an impossible battle around the clock.

The Palisades fire started on Tuesday, January 7  and the Eaton fire in Pasadena began not long after.

More than 180,000 people in Los Angeles have been evacuated and at least 25 people have lost their lives.

There are four additional fires burning in Topanga/Calabasas, Acton, Simi Valley and the Hollywood Hills.

The fires were sparked by the Santa Ana winds, which saw gusts of up to 80 to 100mph on Tuesday and Wednesday as fire fighters tried to get a handle on the blazes.

Entire neighborhoods in Pacific Palisades and Altadena have been wiped off the map due to the blazes.

The Calabasas blaze, named the Kenneth Fire, was allegedly caused by an arsonist, who has been apprehended by police.

Many celebrities have seen their multi-million dollar mansions razed to the ground as the fire spread to Hollywood Hills and Calabasas.

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Miles Teller and Keleigh Sperry Teller, Miley Cyrus and Eugene Levy have seen their homes leveled by the fires.

So did Anna Faris, Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman, Melissa Rivers, Paris Hilton and Mandy Moore, Jeff Bridges, Jhene Aiko, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag and Cary Elwes.

Arnold, who is renowned for his many roles in action movies, is back filming his first festive film in nearly three decades.

Arnold previously appeared in the 1996 Christmas family comedy as a workaholic father on a mission to get his son a sold-out action figure, which results in him learning the real meaning of Christmas.

The former governor of California, who recently became a grandfather for the third time, joins a long list of actors that have played Jolly Old St. Nicholas, including Ben Affleck, Tim Allen, Billy Bob Thornton and Kurt Russell.

News first broke that the Hollywood legend would be starring in another Christmas comedy back in March.

Adam Shankman is directing the Amazon MGM Studios film from a script by Allan Rice.

The plotline reads: ‘When Santa’s magic bag is stolen, he turns to his naughty list to find Vance, a former thief, to help him get it back.

‘Along with his daughter, Santa, and a group of misfit elves, Vance will have to pull off the greatest heist of his life to save Christmas.’

It will mark the first time that Arnie has appeared in a festive movie since Jingle All The Way in 1996.

And it will be his first film role of any kind since Terminator: Dark Fate in 2019.

He did shoot the flick Kung Fury 2 that year but it has not been released due to legal issues.

In addition to his acting career, he is father to five children: daughters Katherine, 35, and Christina, 31, and sons Patrick, 31, Christopher, 27, and Joseph, 27.

He shares all his children with Shriver, apart from Joseph, whose mother is Mildred Patricia Baena, his longtime housekeeper.
