Opening up on his childhood previously, Wynne told The Times: ‘I was the youngest of three boys: one brother is a barrister and the other an opera singer.

‘My father, David, was a council building inspector, and my half-Belgian mother, Elizabeth, was a hairdresser before she turned campaigner to save a local theatre.

‘We lived in an end-of-terrace Victorian house with an outside loo. I didn’t go on a plane until I was 24.’
