Critics Choice Awards 2025 postponed AGAIN amid devastating LA fire

Critics Choice Awards 2025 postponed AGAIN amid devastating LA fire

The Critics Choice Awards 2025 have been postponed for a second time due to the ongoing wildfires ravaging through Southern California.

The show was initially slated to take place on Sunday, January 12 at Barker Hangar and feature a star-studded lineup in attendance. And just prior to the show date, the event was re-scheduled for Sunday, January 26.

However, due to the venue’s close proximity to the fire-ravaged Pacific Palisades, ceremony officials have decided to push back the show to February.

It is unclear if the Critics Choice awards will still be held at the iconic hangar, but Variety confirmed the new show date will be revealed in the coming days and that the event will be held in Santa Monica, California.

Chelsea Handler is hosting the awards show for the third consecutive year, with Wicked, Conclave and Shogun leading the nominees.

The Palisades Fire is at 17% containment and the Eaton Fire in Altadena/Pasadena is at 35% containment as of Tuesday night, per CalFire.

The Palisades Fire broke out on Tuesday, January 7 amid high winds in a region that had not seen significant rainfall in more than six months.

Sunset Boulevard in the Palisades was packed with abandoned luxury cars as residents left their vehicles to flee on foot when news of the blaze initially broke.

Blocks of expensive homes were reduced to rubble as the fires advanced at the rate of three football field lengths per minute.

A stretch of homes on the beach along Pacific Coast Highway have been burned to the ground.

The fire reached the Getty Villa but officials from the museum ᴀssured the public that all of the art and artifacts are safe.

The Eaton Fire also caused the evacuation of a senior center.
