Beyonce postpones January 14 announcement after her foundation donated .5m to LA fire relief

Beyoncé has postponed the January 14 announcement she has been teasing since her Christmas Day NFL halftime performance.

The 43-year-old music artist took to social media on Monday night to share a note with her hundreds of millions of followers.

‘The January 14th announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles,’ Beyoncé typed in white text set against a black background.

She added, ‘I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss. We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community.

‘To join our efforts in supporting those impacted, please visit @BeyGOOD. Love, B.’

The update comes after the singer pledged a $2.5 million donation to fire relief efforts via her BeyGOOD foundation.

The clip showed her perched on a white horse, wearing an all-white, western-inspired ensemble as she waved a large American flag.

Beyoncé cryptically captioned the slow-motion clip with one of her lyrics: ‘Look at that horse.’

Now, fans must continue to wait for the big reveal, which many have speculated could be the announcement of another world tour, this time in support of her eight studio album Cowboy Carter.

One disappointed social media jokingly commented on Monday’s post, ‘WHAT THE FIRES GOT TO DO WITH THE ANNOUNCEMENT?? The announcement might put the fires out,’ racking up an impressive 12,000 likes.

A note shared on the pop star’s foundation’s Instagram page on Sunday read about the fire donation, ‘The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires.’

It concluded ‘To show your support for the impacted families and to learn more about BeyGOOD’s mission, please visit

Celebrities and working class residents alike are picking up the pieces after their Los Angeles neighborhoods were reduced to ash as wildfires began tearing through the city last week.

Two of Los Angeles’ biggest movie studios have dropped millions to aid in recovery efforts as several infernos have steadily decimated the region.

Warner Bros. pledged $15 million to wildfire relief, while Sony has promised another $5 million, according to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline.

The donations follow Amazon’s pledge of $10 million, while stars like Eva Longoria ($1 million) and Jamie Lee Curtis ($1 million) have also donated.

The Pacific Palisades was home to celebrities including Reese Witherspoon, Anna Farris, Tyra Banks and many more.

Paris Hilton lost her Malibu mansion in the blaze and launched an emergency fund, starting with a $100,000 donation to other victims.

Along with her generous contribution, the heiress revealed that she will match ‘additional dollars raised up to $100,000 more.’
