Boy Meets World alum Danielle Fishel Karp might be officially cancer-free, but she’s still suffering from a lot of pain nearly six months after being diagnosed with stage zero DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ).
According to breastcancer.org, DCIS is contained to your milk ducts (tubes that carry milk to the nipple) only, and it makes up 20% to 25% of new breast cancers diagnosed in the States.
The 43-year-old former child star previously revealed last October she successfully underwent two lumpectomies followed by 20 rounds of radiation treatments.
‘I’m officially done with what is considered active cancer treatment,’ Danielle announced on her iHeartRadio podcast Sunday.
‘I did 15 rounds of whole breast radiation and then five rounds of targeted radiation, which just means they focus in on the very small area where my cancer was versus treating the entire breast. It will help significantly lower my chances of recurrence, which is always good news, but, boy, I am feeling the effects.’
Fishel explained to her Pod Meets World co-hosts Rider Strong and Will Friedle that her breasts are literally burned with a ‘rash on top’ due to the ‘cumulative effect’ of the radiation.

‘It’s very itchy, and, also, you can’t itch it, because if you even come close to touching it, you wanna cry,’ the two-time Children’s & Family Emmy Award nominee lamented.
‘It hurts to wear a bra, hurts to not wear a bra. It just hurts to sleep on my side, hurts to sleep, period. Hurts to be awake.’
And while Danielle is ‘really very stinking tired’ she knows ‘it’s not gonna last forever’ since doctors reᴀssured her she should feel better in ‘two to three months.’

‘If I wanna feel better faster, I need to work out and drink water,’ Fishel said of her doctors’ advice.
‘I did start working out. I worked out yesterday. I’m gonna work out again on Friday because he said all the working out and drinking water helps my body get rid of all the damage that the radiation did.’
The Arizona-born beauty received a lot of love and support from her second husband Jensen Karp and their sons Adler, 5; and Keaton, 3.
The married couple of six years attended Calabasas High School together, but they didn’t begin dating until 2017.
Danielle previously divorced her Cal State Fullerton sweetheart Tim Belusko in 2016 after a little more than two years of wedded bliss.
