Sheryl Lee Ralph gave fans an insight into her weight-loss journey, revealing she shed pounds without the help of drugs like Ozempic.
The Abbott Elementary star, 68, said she opted to go the natural way when it comes to slimming down in a new interview with People.
‘I don’t judge. If that would have worked for me, I would have,’ she said, adding, ‘I would do anything to have the best health I possibly could.’
However, the advice she received from her doctor pointed her toward nature’s ‘good medicines.’
‘He said, “Change the way you eat, work out, drink water.” When the doctors tell you that stuff, you’ve got to do it. Because there are certain things like fresh air, sunlight, those are very good medicines. Very good medicines.’
Her wight loss journey started after her doctor told her during a checkup ‘You are obese on the inside’, to which the shocked star replied, ‘I said, “What?”‘

The actress then stressed: ‘Your health is your greatest wealth, and too many of us do not pay attention to it until it’s gone.’
Ralph revealed one of the reasons why she decided to focus on her healthy lifestyle is her visibility on the hit TV show Abbott Elementary.

‘On Abbott the cameras are all around. One time I got a sH๏τ of my behind, and I was like, “Oh, hell no!”‘ she humorously shared.
The star also attributes her youthful glow to a positive outlook and taking her of herself, revealing that the ‘idea of being forever young is mental, physical and spiritual.’
As for potential plastic surgery in the future, the Dreamgirls star said she hasn’t thought about it, but hasn’t ruled it out.
‘My face is my face. That’s my choice. Anybody else wants to do anything to their face and it works for you? Do you.’
The actress added that her stance ‘might change when I’m 80.’
‘I tell anybody, “Do what you need to do for yourself. You want that filler, baby? Get filler. You want that sH๏τ, baby, get that sH๏τ. You need that facelift, honey, go on, get that facelift. You feel good about yourself? Good. That’s what matters.” I’m not their judge.’
