Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu’s best friend has hinted that there may be more to the story after Scott Thomas revealed she slid into his DMs.

The actress, 30, turned heads on Monday when she returned to the villa almost three years after winning the ITV dating show with ex Davide Sanclimenti.   

Making her mark as the first bombshell of the season, Ekin-Su was given the power to steal one of the boys – and a seemingly rattled Scott was quick to set the record straight. 

After being coupled up with India Reynolds, 34, Scott turned to her and whispered: ‘She slid into my DMs a few times.’ 

However hosts of spin-off Love Island: Morning After Podcast questioned that there might be more to the story and Scott could be trying to get in first before Ekin-Su exposes what really happened.

And the sentiment appeared to be echoed by one of Ekin-Su’s close friends, who is managing her social media while she’s in the villa.

In a clip from the spin-off show, Indiyah Polack, Amy Hart and Alex Bowen were seen discussing the Scott and Ekin DM conversation. 

Indiyah suggested Scott may have ‘flipped the script’ and that he actually messaged her first – to which Amy and Alex appeared to agree. 

Sharing the clip on Instagram, one comment in particular peaked interest as Ekin-Su’s official account liked the video and posted a row of looking eyes emojis, followed by a script. 

The interaction suggested Ekin-Su’s friend agreed with what the panel were saying and hinted at the former winner spilling all on what really went down. 

Scott’s brother Ryan Thomas shared his hilarious reaction at the bombshell DM moment. 

The Coronation Street star, 40, settled in to watch the drama unfold with his wife Lucy Mecklenburgh, 33, brother Adam and the rest of the Thomas family.

After Ekin-Su’s power to steal was revealed, Ryan could be heard saying: ‘Don’t take Scott, don’t do it.’

Scott’s twin Adam, 36, then buried his head in his hands and added: ‘She’s gonna pick Scott’.

It was at this point Scott revealed Ekin-Su had messaged him, to which the Thomas family household erupted into screams, with Emmerdale star Adam jumping out of his seat in shock.   

The episode then cut to end credits without revealing the three boys Ekin-Su chose for a date in the garden. 

‘Oh my god Scott what’s going on, don’t do it to us’ Ryan said, before his mum could be heard in the background adding: ‘We’re not going to know until tomorrow you know.’

‘I’m dying,’ Ryan said, before Adam replied: ‘Call Scott right now and find out what happened.’ 

Sharing the clip on his Instagram, Ryan captioned it: ‘She slid into his DMs… You can’t end it on that!!! Is she going to pick Scott?’

After Ekin-Su’s entrance, the camera panned to Scott, 36, who turned to India Reynolds, 34, and whispered: ‘She slid into my DMs a few times’

The public were given the power to pair up the singletons on Monday’s launch show and wickedly opted to reunited exes Marcel Somerville, 39, and Gabby Allen, 32, six years after their relationship ended shortly after their stint in the 2017 series when the Blazing Squad star cheated.

Meanwhile Scott and India were also coupled up by the public vote, and said that despite being long time friends they were open to seeing if romance blossomed. 

Host Maya Jama then unveiled the show’s first bombshell in the form of Ekin-Su.

It was revealed the stunner would be allowed to steal one of the hunks, before the show ended on a cliffhanger.
