Rihanna has her fans absolutely terrified that a recent speech she gave at a Fenty Beauty event in her native Barbados means she’s retiring from music.
During the speech, the Umbrella singer, 36, mentioned that while music is what made her famous and opened doors for her, God has other plans for her moving forward.
This has reignited fans’ fears that RiRi will never finish her highly anticipated ninth album and, in fact, may never release new music again.
After all, it has been awhile since her last musical performance at the 2023 Super Bowl, which fans are well aware of, especially when Taylor Swift and Beyoncé have had such mᴀssive tours since the last time Rihanna toured.
One fan took to X (formerly Twitter) to express dismay, writing, ‘Rihanna said God had plans for her elsewhere…WELP! She officially done fri y’all.’

What isn’t helping Rihanna’s fans cope is the fact that she hasn’t released a new album in eight years.
And earlier this year, the Pon de Replay hitmaker was spotted wearing a blue t-shirt that said ‘I’m Retired’ on the front of it.
To top it all off, Rihanna has been very focused on Fenty Beauty and her other beauty and fashion industry desires and has made no secret of the fact that she enjoys that creative process greatly.
A pᴀssionate fan wrote, ‘Music was the thing that got the attention, but god had other plans for me. Rihanna is gone byee.’
‘Rihanna really retired,’ another fan said, adding a broken heart emoji. ‘We aren’t getting any new music.’
Someone else went doom and gloom by writing, ‘Rihanna announcing her retirement trump becoming president radical optimism and eternal sunshine getting snubbed I’m out, ‘ they said referring to the albums by Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande being snubbed by the Grammy Awards.
Another fan cautioned not to press Rihanna, writing, ‘I know people are big fans, etc but gotta stop pressuring Rihanna for music. She’s fully saying she’s done with it and I admire that man, stop while she was on top and now evolved to do other things.’
One fan shared an image of a coffin and captioned it, ‘Rihanna pᴀssed away in her sleep last night.’
‘Rihanna is really retired from music. Sad to hear but honestly can’t judge her. It’s not an honest industry,’ someone else shared.
