Ariel Mitchell-Kidd, an attorney representing one of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs recent accusers, told NewsNation’s Banfield, hosted by Laura Ingle, that she was told she ‘needed a subpoena to get records’ of her clients 2018 report from the Orinda Police Department.

Combs, 54 – who has been denied bail by a judge and pleaded not guilty to all charges – was indicted for Sєx trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prosтιтution earlier this month in New York City.

Mitchell-Kidd explained the many road blocks she’s faced with law enforcement after receiving word on Tuesday night from the county that she ‘needed a subpoena’ to access public records.

‘I’ve never experienced in any situation where I have been told I needed a subpoena to get public information.

‘I was floored. I was shocked, and it was apparent to me that some type of cover up is going on,’ she said.

‘I’ve never experienced in any situation where I have been told I needed a subpoena to get public information,’ Mitchell-Kidd said in refence to documents detailing that the disgraced rapper  (pictured in 2020) allegedly raped her client

Mitchell-Kidd referred to the Freedom of Information Act, ‘which requires public information be given freely,’ she said. ‘That’s why it’s a federal law.’

She further explained that the county did not initially tell her she needed a subpoena to obtain the documents.

‘Initially they just said that all I needed to do was send a letter on my letterhead with my client’s information, the date of the report, and the report number, and that they would get the information out to me within 10 days,’ the lawyer said.

Mitchell-Kidd added that she also asked the county if they needed payment for the documents, including bodycam footage, the report, and ‘any subsequent amendments to that report.’

‘And they completely shut me down. I’ve never experienced this in my life,’ she added.

She previously told NewsNation that her unnamed client contacted her a few weeks ago and told her the details of the alleged ᴀssault.

‘She called me and told me about her ᴀssault and her escape. She was at a friend’s house who had industry ties, and Diddy decided to come to the house,’ Mitchell-Kidd revealed.

She added that her client later found out that Combs had plans to Sєx traffic her after he arrived.

‘It led to her being served a drink. She started to feel woozy. Combs Sєxually ᴀssaulted her with an inanimate object.

‘And then directed another gentleman to Sєxually ᴀssault her while he watched and pleasured himself,’ Mitchell-Kidd said.

The attorney said that her client managed to break free and ran to the streets as a neighbor reportedly watched her escape.

According to Mitchell-Kidd, the neighbor then called the police and reported the incident, adding that they initially left Combs’ name out before adding it back in later.

The attorney said that her client later found out that Combs had plans to Sєx traffic her after he arrived at ‘a friend’s house who had industry ties’

Although she has hit a wall trying to access documents, the attorney revealed that her client obtained a rape kit at the time of the alleged incident.

‘Yes, I did discover. I had a four-hour conversation with my client today. We pretty much went over the fact portion [of her complaint].

‘I did find out that she went to two different places. She went to her primary care doctor and then she also went to the hospital,’ she said.

Mitchell-Kidd added that her client has said ‘some explosive things’ about when ‘police were called at the time of the ᴀssault.’

‘And even when the police came to the hospital because when she went to the hospital they did call a different precinct to come in,’ she added, noting that it’s ‘very weird and odd’ that she has not been able to receive requested documents.

‘She [the client] even said they sent her a letter, the police sent her a letter, that if she wanted to get her own police report she needed a subpoena,’ Mitchell-Kidd said.

‘I’ve never heard anything like this, it goes against federal law. The Orinda Police are in violation of federal law, and I will make sure if they want to be the next face in a lawsuit, they can be the next,’ she added.

The Orinda Police Department did not respond when contacted by DailyMail.com.

Combs is currently being held in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center pending trial.

Prosecutors have accused him of overseeing a sordid empire of Sєxual crimes.

He is accused of inducing female victims and male Sєx workers into drugged-up, sometimes daylong Sєxual performances dubbed ‘Freak Offs.’

The indictment against him also alleges he coerced and abused women for years while using blackmail and shocking acts of violence to keep his victims in line.

Diddy has since issued an angry denial from jail after 120 more of his alleged victims came forward with Sєxual ᴀssault claims.

Following the announcement of the accusations in Texas, an attorney for Combs said the performer ‘cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus.’

‘That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he Sєxually abused anyone, including minors.

‘He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.’

The alleged victims are set to file multiple lawsuits detailing allegations of Sєxual ᴀssault that span over 25 years and include women and men that were underage at the time of the reported ᴀssaults.
