The 33-year-old model showed fans a glimpse of her bathroom in her Nashville, Tennessee, home and demonstrated some go-to steps to her beauty routine while pregnant in a video with Vogue magazine.
‘For me, It’s all about self-care when you’re pregnant,’ Lily said at the start of the video.
She continued: ‘I also switched all of my beauty products to be as natural as possible because I think that is really important.’
The first step in self-care for the mom of one is to implement masks, both on her face and on her belly. Lily, who is married to Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followill, has a six-year-old daughter named Dixie.
Currently, Lily’s go-to mask of choice is Fresh’s Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask ($62).
‘One of my favorite things about [the mask] is my daughter’s face when I wear it because there’s little particles in it,’ Lily said. ‘She always tells me…“Mom, you have barnacles on your face,” but it’s actually lotus flowers.’
Lily will then slather the mask all over her face and continue some down her neck.
‘I think whatever you put on your face you should put on your neck because people see that,’ she said. ‘You need to take care of that neck. And when you’re pregnant, you need to take care of that belly cause it’s growing.’
When treating her face to a mask, Lily will also place a pregnancy belly sheet mask from Hatch across her stomach to help the growing area.
‘This is supposed to help with stretch marks, which is always great, Lily said. ‘But the fact is, I got stretch marks from my last pregnancy. I’ll probably get them for this one and that’s beautiful. It’s part of the journey.’
The products will then ‘marinate’ on Lily’s skin for a period of time before she washes them off with a warm washcloth.
‘Now that I’m masked…a new thing that I kind of discovered this year is my love of a cleansing balm,’ Lily revealed. The model has been using Naturopathica’s Manuka Honey Cleansing Balm ($62) recently.
‘Then your skin is very shiny and supple which I love,’ Lily said.
Although her skin appears to be flawless during the video, the model admitted to having a ‘crazy’ amount of breakouts during the first trimester because of the fluctuation of her hormone levels.
‘I just got little bumps all over my face, my neck and the back,’ she said. ‘And then you can’t tell anyone you’re pregnant at the time so people are like “what’s wrong with your skin”.’
Pregnancy has also caused a puffiness in Lily’s face that has diminished the look of her cheekbones, which the model is known for.
‘I am just holding on every day,’ she said while using a ReFa face roller ($160) to help with the puffiness along her cheeks. ‘Every day that they’re still there I am so happy.’
The next step in Lily’s beauty routine includes moisturizing her face and neck with Kora Organics moisturizer ($48).
For body lotion, she currently likes Kate McCleod’s Mama Stone ($45) and describes it as a ‘cloud’.
‘You’re supposed to put it really everywhere that’s growing, which is literally everywhere right now,’ Lily said.
Lily keeps her makeup natural by only applying concealer to her under eyes and any other place she thinks needs it.
