Ryan Reynolds has landed a new role on a Disney+ show which is worlds away from his ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool alter-ego Wade Wilson.
The Hollywood actor, 48, is set to narrate new five-part documentary series called Underdogs.
The upcoming show will explore how different animals – who are known as underdogs – live their day to day lives in the wild.
Ryan’s production company Maximum Effort and Winning Wildstar Films have joined forces to create the programme.
The synopsis reads: ‘Hold on to your binoculars, folks, as Nat Geo gets up close and personal with the outcasts of the animal kingdom in UNDERDOGS, narrated by Ryan Reynolds.
‘From their hidden talents to their unconventional hygiene choices to their unsavory courtship rituals, UNDERDOGS celebrates the unique behaviors of the animals who don’t usually get to be the stars of the show.’

And fans don’t have long to wait as all five episodes are due to be released on Disney+ and Hulu on Monday 16 June, as well as on Nat Geo Wild on Wednesday 18 June.
Ryan says in the trailer: ‘For over 135 years, National Geographic has gone to the ends of the earth to bring you the most stunning footage of nature ever put to film.
‘But enough with the top of the food chain. It’s time to shift out focus to the bottom!’
He continues: ‘I’ve teamed up with Nat Geo to fast forward right past nature’s glory hogs and get right down in the mud.
‘With nature’s benchwarmers, not the superheros, the super zeros.
‘Wherever there is an itch in nature’s under carriage, there will be underdogs.’
Many went wild in the comments section of the show’s trailer on YouTube.
The first episode is called Superzeroes, followed by a second called Terrible Parents.

The third instalment is called Sєxy Beats, then fans will be treated to one called The Unusual Suspects and it will wrap up with an episode called Total Grossout.

Ryan said of his new role: ‘Getting to work with National Geographic on UNDERDOGS was a dream come true – mostly because I can finally watch a project of ours with my children.
‘Technically, they saw “ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine” but I don’t think they absorbed much while covering their eyes and ears and screaming for two hours.
“We’re so proud to elevate the unsung heroes of the natural world to the top of the entertainment food chain and can’t wait for everyone to see.’
