Brad Pitt has finally broken his silence on his ugly eight-year Angelina Jolie divorce battle that ended in December after she filed in 2016.

The 61-year-old Oscar-winning actor was not venting, however, and instead seemed to try and downplay the legal boxing match that’s made headlines for almost a decade.

His comments were made in the June issue of GQ magazine as he promoted his new race-car movie F1. 

The 61-year-old said finally seeing the end of their battle was not ‘major.’

‘No, I don’t think it was that major of a thing,’ Pitt said. ‘Just something coming to fruition. Legally.’

Pitt and Jolie, who share six children — Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, Knox, 16, and Vivienne, also 16 — married in 2014 after meeting on the set of Mr And Mrs Smith.

Pitt did acknowledge his love life is ‘always in the news.’

‘It’s been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let’s put it that way,’ he told GQ.   

He now lives at his Los Angeles home with his 32-year-old girlfriend, jewelry executive Ines de Ramon. 

GQ writer Daniel Riley also asked if he made his red carpet debut with Ines at the 2024 British Grand Prix to drum up publicly for F1.

‘No, dude, it’s not that calculated,’ Pitt  laugh. 

‘If you’re living, oh my God, how exhausting would that be? If you’re living with making those kinds of calculations? No, life just evolves. Relationships evolve.’

Pitt’s new racing movie F1 is released in theaters on June 27. 

When the GQ writer asked if making F1 was ‘a refuge from all the attention’ he said, ‘Um, I don’t see it that way.’

‘It’s been an annoyance I’ve had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do,’ he said of fame. 

‘So, it’s always been this kind of nagging time suck or waste of time, if you let it be that, I don’t know. I don’t know. 

‘Mostly I feel pretty…. My life is fairly contained,’ added the ex-husband of Jennifer Aniston. 

‘It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am, that, you know, it’s like this fly buzzing around a little bit.’

He also told GQ that the movie made him happy to be a Hollywood actor.

‘Man, I’ve been doing this for a while and was wondering: Do I have more stories to tell? Do I have anything to add to this? Is there still any excitement I can find from this? It just reinvigorated the whole thing again for me.’

The interview comes after Daily Mail revealed Pitt is ‘back in the arms’ of new love de Ramon for a little work break.

The Hollywood actor returned to his Los Angeles home earlier this month, DailyMail.com has learned.

Pitt had been shooting his latest movie, the survival thriller Heart Of The Beast, in New Zealand for almost three months.

Both were seen in Los Angeles last week, but separately. ‘Brad is happy to be back in Los Angeles with his lady, he is very in love with her,’ the source shared. ‘They are doing better than ever. The breakup rumors are not true at all. They are solid.’

Soon he has to pack his bags to promote his new Formula One movie F1. The New York City premiere for the drama is June 16 and the London premiere at Leicester Square is on June 23

Pitt’s Heart Of The Beast shoot marks the longest time the couple has spent apart since moving in together at his LA mansion last year.

But now he has to head out again. The Oscar-winner will go on an international press tour for his race car movie F1. The New York City premiere for the drama is June 16 and the London premiere at Leicester Square is on June 23.

The couple, who went public with their relationship in November 2022, will mark their third anniversary this spring. 

Earlier DailyMail.com reported that Pitt is in a good place with his love life.  ‘They are very much in love and happy to be in a healthy relationship,’ the source said. ‘Brad loves being with a woman who is not an actress because there is no compeтιтion at all, they have their own careers and there is zero jealousy.’ 

Indeed, a relationship with a non-celebrity has marked a stark shift for Pitt whose previous partners have included A-list actresses Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie. 

Pitt is not Ramon’s first famous boyfriend, either. She was previously married to The Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley, but they divorced after five years in November.

He now dates Ines de Ramon; seen in 2024 in Italy

In March, Pitt went to New Zealand’s south island to shoot survival thriller, Heart Of The Beast. 

The film, which is being co-produced by his Plan B company, also stars the 24-year-old Canadian actress Anna Lambe. 

Pitt plays a former US Navy SEAL who becomes stranded in the wilderness with his retired ‘combat dog’ after a plane crash. It is not yet known what role Lambe, who starred in the TV show True Detective, will play.

The actor was pictured on set wearing cargo pants and a camouflage-print top as he stood near a fire pit and bright yellow tent. He was also seen kayaking across a lake in a green canoe before filming scenes at the campsite.

Filming locations included the Kiwi resort Queenstown and the world-famous fjord, Milford Sound, which were ‘stand-ins’ for Alaska where the film is meant to be set.

Pitt is now back in Los Angeles for a break.

Set in the high-stakes world of Formula 1 motor racing, Pitt plays a champion driver who comes out of retirement to challenge a young up-and-comer.
