Gethin Jones is reportedly ‘ticking all the boxes’ for rumoured love interest Helen Skelton. 

BBC Morning Live co-stars Gethin, 47, and Helen, 41, have found themselves at the centre of romance rumours as news of their reported romance circulated last week. 

Now, a source has claimed the pair share a ‘natural’ chemistry and are continuing to grow closer. 

A source told The Mirror: ‘Helen and Gethin are definitely getting close, they’ve been on a few outings together. 

‘Gethin has helped her through some really tough times, it’s not been an easy few years for Helen, but he has been a tower of strength for her.’

Helen’s difficult period began in April 2022 when she announced her separation from her husband Richie Myler, 35, just four months after the birth of their third child. 

The split reportedly came as a shock, leaving Helen blindsided. 

Sharing the news on Instagram at the time, she wrote: ‘Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children.’ 

Following the separation, Helen relocated with her three children – Ernie, nine, Louis, eight, and Elsie, three – to her hometown in Cumbria, focusing on her family and career. 

She later appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2022, which she credited with helping her navigate the emotional aftermath of her marriage breakdown.

Following Helen and Richie’s abrupt separation, the rugby player started a new relationship and welcomed two more children. 

According to the source, this is the first time Helen has felt a real spark since her divorce: ‘Helen and Gethin get on really well and are keen to get closer. They’re getting to know each other on a deeper level and are really enjoying each other’s company.’

The source added that the pair ‘make each other laugh’ and Gethin is the first person Helen has been ‘keen on’ since her divorce from Richie.

They went on to say that Gethin is ‘very kind’ and ‘ticks all of Helen’s boxes’ and she is reportedly hoping that their connection will ‘grow into a real relationship’. 

MailOnline has contacted representatives for both Gethin and Helen for comment. 

The TV stars, who co-present Morning Live, were pictured leaving the Bafta TV Awards together this month but they first fuelled romance rumours in March with their joint 24-hour roller-skating challenge for Comic Relief. 

During the challenge, Gethin publicly praised Helen’s resilience and sense of humour.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, he shared his admiration for her, revealing he called her within an hour of the event ending to debrief. 

Gushing over how much he enjoyed spending time with Helen, Gethin also let slip a secret nickname he has for her, as he captioned a snap of the star sporting a red nose with ‘famous ferret’.

The pair have since been seen at several high-profile events, including a charity ball, where their relaxed and cosy demeanour again caught attention. 

While neither Gethin nor Helen has confirmed the rumours, their growing closeness continues to keep fans guessing.
