Ryan Reynolds’ best friend Rob McElhenney has spoken out in an interview with Variety about supporting the star and his wife Blake Lively amid their legal battle with Justin Baldoni. 

The ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool actor, 48, and Blake, 37, are currently embroiled in a lawsuit with her It Ends With Us co-star and director after accusing him of Sєxual harᴀssment as well as a smear campaign. 

The director then counter-sued the A-List couple, accusing them of defamation. All of the parties dispute the allegations against them.

And as celebrity friends of the couple choose their side amid the unfolding drama, Rob, who co-owns Wrexham football club with Ryan, and his wife Kaitlin Olson have made it clear they are supporting their pals. 

Speaking in an interview with the magazine, the It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star explained: ‘It’s just our way of staying connected and navigating something together.

Rob, who co-owns Wrexham football club with Ryan, and his wife Kaitlin have made it clear they are supporting their pals

‘And also me giving and showing as much support as I possibly can with all the other stuff that he’s got going on, that I know is so difficult and challenging.’ 

Between discussing how to grow their football empire, the two men also exchange countless funny memes and reels throughout the day. 

Rob continued: ‘We both are just trying to offer our support in any way that we can that doesn’t just simply add oxygen to the fire.’

Rob and Kaitlin also opened up about how they have worked hard to make their relationship work. 

The actor admitted: ‘The confluence of hair, makeup, lighting, pH๏τography, the clothing, they make us look incredible. And that’s a testament to the craftsmanship and the narrative. 

‘But the truth is that marriage is really f*****g hard. We’ve gone through terrible times, and we’ve gone through wonderful times. 

‘We’ve hit seemingly rock bottom, and we’ve hit heights that I couldn’t possibly imagine that I would meet with a partner. 

‘I’d like to believe that we’re going to continue that for the next 40, 50, 60 years together.’

Kaitlin confessed that the pair both receive therapy as she added: ‘I’m really proud of us for making our marriage important and a priority. 

‘When we’re stuck, I have a therapist and he has a therapist. I’m really happy about the fact that I’m married to someone who doesn’t have a negative ᴀssociation with therapy. If there’s a time we need help, we go get the help, and then we move on.’

Meanwhile Rob and Kaitlin aren’t the only celebrities to show their support for Blake and Ryan, after Hugh Jackman also made his alliance with the couple publicly known. 

Last month the Wolverine actor cosied up to Blake the premiere for her latest film Another Simple Favour in New York. 

As they embraced on the carpet, the actor made it clear he is backing his long term pals, despite warnings from fans on social media.
