Their romance initially seemed like a celebrity fairytale after they met at Elton John’s Oscars party in LA in February 2011, before they got engaged in April 2012.

However, their relationship came to an explosive end just six months later, with Leandro going on to brand Katie ‘old and talentless’ and said she drove him ‘insane’.

Since their headline-making tryst came to an end, Leandro has adopted quite the different lifestyle away from the limelight as he now sells avocados for a living.

Rather than gracing red carpets and modelling shoots, Leandro is now dedicated to running his import and export business Paltas Royal, which he founded in 2011.

His avocado company is responsible for importing fruit to Chile and exporting fruit from Peru to all around the world and he promotes his ventures on his Instagram.

He often shares pH๏τographs of himself posing in his avocado trees and packing his produce as he has left behind his life of fame for a very different outdoorsy lifestyle.

However, his daughter Sofi Brizzio Penna – who he shares with Romina Brizzio – has launched her own life in the spotlight and has a thriving career as a model.

She boasts more than 23,000 followers on her Instagram page and often takes to the catwalk for Argentinian clothing brand Viveka.

Sofi recently strutted the runway at Cordoba Fashion Week and often promotes the brand’s stylish creations on her Instagram, alongside giving an insight into her jet-setting lifestyle.

While his daughter has followed in his showbiz footsteps, Leandro mostly disappeared from the limelight after his headline-making romance with Katie.

Former glamour model Katie first met then-model Leandro while they attended Elton John’s 2011 Oscars party in LA and they quickly started dating.

They broke up after eight months together, but quickly rekindled things and got engaged during a skiing holiday in April 2012.

Announcing her engagement at the time, Katie wrote in her column for The Sun: ‘Husband number three? Will it last? I’m not surprised by people’s reactions.’

‘If life isn’t for livin’ and lovin’, then what is it for? And anyway – three is a lucky number,’ she added.

Katie was seen sporting a giant pink heart-shaped engagement ring shortly after, but a source confirmed that it wasn’t her real engagement ring but had been borrowed from a friend.

Katie made two trips to Argentina to meet his parents in his home city of Cordoba and signed up to appear alongside him on Argentina’s version of Strictly Come Dancing.

He almost became Katie’s third husband after Peter Andre and Alex Reid, but their union was once again short-lived as they broke up just six months later, before setting a wedding date.

Their break-up quickly took a volatile turn as Leandro told how he dumped Katie because she was ‘totally crazy’ in bombshell comments.

He reportedly said: ‘I left her simply because she is crazy. Katie’s brain is not wired right, or the wires don’t connect properly.

‘I don’t know what’s wrong with her. I was thinking it over recently and one day I packed my bags and left.

‘There was nothing else I could do. She was driving me insane.’

Speaking to Caras magazine in Argentina, he added: ‘That’s it, there’s no going back.

‘Katie is totally crazy. What started beautifully in February last year has now come to an end.’

Leandro also accused her of marrying to ‘make money’ and branded her as ‘old and talentless’ in more brutal remarks. 

‘She’s married to make money. She always drove me mad about wanting to get married but it wasn’t something I ever felt like doing,’ he told the Sunday Mirror.

‘Katie knows she’s old and has to resort to doing stupid things to get publicity because she’s got no talent.

‘Katie’s desperate for money. She’s going to use Kieran until she’s finished with him and then swap him for someone else.

‘I’m glad I took the decision to leave her because she was driving me mad with her jealousy.’

Leandro’s savage attack came in stark contrast to Katie’s amicable statement shared to her blog at the time of their split. 

In a statement, she said: ‘Leo and I have had a lovely fun time for a couple of years, we will always feel deep affection for each other, but sometimes relationships just run their course.

However, their relationship came to an explosive end six months later, with Leandro going on to brand Katie ‘old and talentless’ and said she drove him ‘insane’ (they are pictured in July 2012)

‘Pressures of work on different continents, natural demands of family ties, and careers, have meant we have spent a huge amount of time apart even when we were in the same country. This meant it was difficult for the relationship to move forward.

‘Accordingly we’ve mutually decided to call it a day, but we really wish each other nothing but the very best and will remain best of friends, whoever he eventually settles down with will be a very lucky girl.’

Her spokesman had previously denied claims her relationship with Leandro was on the rocks, after it was revealed Katie had exchanged texts with X Factor hopeful Dan Ferrari-Lane, but Katie insisted their relationship was ‘entirely innocent and platonic’.

Katie soon moved on from Leandro and got engaged to Kieran Hayler just 11 weeks later in a whirlwind romance.

The couple tied the knot in 2013 and welcomed two children – Jett, 10, and Bunny, nine – together, before splitting for good in 2018.

PETER ANDRE (2005 – 2009)

The nation got to watch love blossom between the pair when they starred alongside one another on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here back in 2004. The flying sparks soon became nuptials, with blushing bride Katie and her erstwhile pop hunk beau tying the knot at Highclere Castle (the grand Berkshire estate of Downton Abbey fame) in September 2005. Katie, who was already mother to son Harvey (born in 2002 following a romance with former footballer Dwight Yorke), soon started a family with her new husband. The couple welcomed son Junior in 2005, while daughter Princess followed in 2007. Creation between the pair also came artistically, with the release of reality programmes, a failed talk show and a foray into the music world. However, after four years of securing their position as the Ken and Barbie of reality TV and glossy magazine deals, the pair announced in 2009 that they were going their separate ways.

 

 

 

ALEX REID (2010 – 2012) 

Katie soon switched her romantic allegiance from a onetime ab-bearing pop heartthrob to musclebound MMA fighter Alex Reid. The two met at Michelle Heaton’s 30th birthday party at London’s Cafe de Paris. But shortly after they got together, Katie dumped Alex on live TV, only for him to win her back and the pair go from strength to strength. Weeks after proudly cheering her man on to a win on the 2010 edition of Celebrity Big Brother (also featuring none other than her ex-boyfriend Dane Bowers), Katie jetted off to Las Vegas to tie the knot with her new partner in February 2010 after just seven months of dating – and nine months after divorcing Peter. Following their Sin City sojourn, the pair returned to their native UK, where they had a formal ceremony – which was filmed for a TV series. However, after just 11 months of marriage, the pair announced they were splitting and their divorce was finalised in March 2012. While Katie declared at the time that she married Alex ‘too soon’, she would later go on to reveal that a major factor in their split was his cross-dressing alter-ego Roxanne.

 

 

 

KIERAN HAYLER (2013 – 2021)

Showing herself to be a true woman of the times, Katie embarked on a romance with former stripper Kieran after the two met on the now-defunct Blackberry Messenger service in 2012. And just two months after altering the paths of their lives via those thumb-tapped fateful opening messages, the twosome would go on to exchange nuptials in the Caribbean. Kieran proposed to a thrilled Katie on Christmas Day 2012, and just three weeks later, the pair would be pronounced husband and wife in the idyllic shores of the Bahamas on January 16, 2013. They had their marriage blessed in Weston-super Mare, and in the months that followed, it appeared that Katie had finally found her happily ever after. They welcomed son Jett in August 2013, and daughter Bunny in August 2014. But Katie’s world came crashing down in 2014, when she discovered that Kieran had cheated on her with her close friend of 20 years, Jane Pountney, and was enjoying a fling with another of her pals, Chrissy Thomas. After publicly lashing out at all parties involved (and naming her pet pigs after her friends-turned-foes), Katie appeared determined to make things work when she renewed her vows with Kieran in 2015. But alas, it would not turn out to be third time lucky for Katie, as the pair split in 2018 amid even more cheating allegations. Their ‘amicable’ divorce was finalised in early 2021.
