Susanna Reid had a BRUTAL four-word response to Richard Madeley as he bragged about never ageing on his 69th birthday on Tuesday’s episode of Good Morning Britain. 

The 54-year-old reminded viewers just minutes into the instalment that it was a special day for her co-host.

Susanna told Richard: ‘I would like to say a huge happy birthday Richard Madeley! I’d like to point out that Richard does not like to make a fuss. But we do…’ 

The journalist then told him to tell the viewers how old he would be turning, to which Richard said: ‘I’m 69 today. But it’s for my sins. 

‘I’ve been on television almost every day since the late 1970s, so it’s a bit like Jeremy Clarkson was writing in the paper in The Sunday Times this week, if you look at yourself in the shaving mirror every day, you can’t see yourself getting older. 

‘But if you looked every three months, you’d notice it. I’m on every day here. Mostly. So of course I’m aging…

‘Obviously I am but because I’m on all the time, it’s possibly not as noticeable.’ 

Susanna brutally replied: ‘You’re talking absolute nonsense.’ 

She continued: ‘You’re not on every day. I don’t know what delulu world you’re in where you’re on every day.’

Richard said: ‘Two weeks out of the four!’ 

Susanna told him: ‘We look at you and see someone at least, 10 if not 20 years younger.

‘I would say! Don’t you think? You could be 49! You look incredible..

Richard explained: ‘I should have brought in a picture of mu mum in actually. My mum who died when she was about 84, until the last year, when she was ill. She was amazing my mum.

Everybody said that about my mum.

Susanna told her co-star: ‘You’re not on every day. I don’t know what delulu world you’re in where you’re on every day’

Richard had a big smile on his face after his co-star wished him a happy birthday as he turns 69 today (Tuesday 13 May)

Susanna chimed in: ‘Good genes.’ 

Richard explained: ‘Maybe you get lucky with the genetic components…’ 

Susanna told her co-star: ‘Well you look incredible!’ 

Richard told her: ‘Whatever!’  

Fans rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to send their best wishes.

One said: ‘Happy Birthday Richard.’

‘Happy 69th birthday Richard. My bday is next Wednesday… I’ll be 44. You look great… whatever your doing is working. Enjoy your day.’

It comes after GMB viewers were left sickened as Richard tucked into ‘revolting’ snacks on the show last month.  

Correspondent Nick Dixon appeared on the programme to report a segment on how campaigners have said that crickets and ants should be part of a balanced diet because of their high protein content.

So Richard, 68, decided to do a taste test himself live in the studio. 

He said: ‘This is roasted cricket, you say this is like pre dinner snacks? Like pretzels?

‘Me thinking on this, if we didn’t eat prawns for example, as a dish, and suddenly said, “Try eating prawns”, must people would go “Ew! Why would you want to eat that?”
