Paul Mescal’s girlfriend Gracie Abrams has sparked engagement rumours after being spotted with a diamond ring on the fourth finger of her left hand multiple times.

The American singer-songwriter, 25, and the Normal People actor, 29, have been romantically linked since June 2024 after they were spotted enjoying a cosy dinner date.

And now nearly a year later, the pair have got tongues wagging over whether they’ll be taking the next step in their relationship, after Gracie has been seen wearing an eye-catching new piece of jewellery.

Celebrity gossip page Deux Moi questioned whether they could be engaged as they shared a snap of Gracie arriving in Melbourne for her trio of concert’s at the Rob Laver Arena. 

They also shared a message a fan had sent in, with an image of the Tough Love hitmaker performing on stage in Melbourne, once again sporting the sparkler on her engagement finger.

Sharing their thoughts that the pair could be heading down the aisle, they penned: ‘Gracie Abrams arriving in Melbourne…always THAT ring and never just A ring.’

However, fans didn’t seem to be convinced, taking to the comments to voice their doubts that the couple would have gotten engaged.

They wrote: ‘Would bet a million dollars she’s not engaged’; ‘I can’t imagine Paul wanting to settle down tbh’; ‘she is NOT engaged’.

‘I think she just likes the ring’; ‘She’s def not engaged’; ‘we all know paul would much rather give an engagement ring to daisy edgar jones’.

‘She always wears a ring on that finger’; ‘She just likes the ring maam I don’t think…’; ‘or maybe she just wanted to put her ring on that hand?’

‘god forbid a girl likes jewellery’; ‘If you look at pictures of her she legit always has a ring on either her left middle or left ring finger. Not sure why this picture would mean something different.’

The couple’s romance appears to be back on track after they sparked split fears earlier this year, when they were spotted locked in a tearful argument while dining at a trendy restaurant in London, causing Gracie to storm out.

However, just a few weeks later they looked to have patched things up as they were pictured looking very affectionate outside the Noel Coward Theatre where Paul was starring in A Streetcar Named Desire.

An onlooker told MailOnline at the time: ‘Paul came out of the stage door to say hello to about 100 fans and was signing autographs.

They also shared a message a fan had sent in, with an image of the Tough Love hitmaker performing on stage in Melbourne, once again sporting the sparkler on her engagement finger 

However, fans didn’t seem to be convinced, taking to the comments to voice their doubts that the couple would have gotten engaged

‘Gracie was standing on the street watching on but stayed very much back, in the shadows, so she was not noticed. She kept a very low profile.

‘Paul then walked back into the theatre and, after the fans cleared off, he reappeared. She was waiting for him and they went round the corner to hide.

‘They were kissing and hugging before walking off arm-in-arm to dinner.’

Meanwhile, Paul pulled out all the stops to support his girlfriend and flew across the world to join her in New Zealand as she continued her The Secret Of Us Tour earlier this month.

The Gladiator II star was pictured earlier this week at Auckland’s Bruce Tattoo studio alongside Gracie and tattoo artist Madison Taiapa – fuelling speculation the couple may have marked the trip with matching inkings.

Tattoo artist Tom Hinston shared the pH๏τo on Instagram, showing a dressed-down Paul in a black hoodie while cradling a dog. The snap was later re-posted by fans online.

‘Despite their busy schedules, the couple is making each other a priority,’ an insider told PEOPLE magazine last month. 

‘There’s no denying the strong chemistry between Paul and Gracie, true lovebirds.’

 It is not clear whether Paul or Gracie – daughter of Star Wars director J.J. Abrams – got inked during their visit to the tattoo parlour.

The Oscar-nominated actor is known to be a fan of body art, with several tattoos including ones that nod to his family and one related to the hit BBC series Normal People, in which he starred opposite Daisy Edgar Jones.

Paul’s previous girlfriend Phoebe Bridgers, is also an American singer, with the pair dating for two years after a flirtatious interaction on social media in 2020.

They also sparked rumours they had gotten engaged, after sources claimed to have heard Phoebe introducing Paul as her ‘fiancé’ at Coachella in 2022.

The Guardian then reported that the couple were headed down the aisle in November 2022, however, the claims were later retracted by the publication.

The pair then broke up in December 2022, leaving Paul devastated, with those who met him in North London reporting he would break down in tears when they asked about it for months afterwards.

But he finally moved on with Gracie and the couple are known to keep their relationship very private but have been dating since last summer, spotted only a few times together in Gracie’s hometown of New York or London.

MailOnline first revealed pictures of Paul and Gracie holding hands walking through the streets of London in July with onlookers revealing ‘they were kissing a lot’.

An insider told People Magazine in August the two were ‘hooking up and it’s in the early stages’.

In October, the Sunburn star was spotted in the VIP at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Miami supporting the Close To You singer as she performed the opening act.

Their first major appearance together was in November when they attended the Gladiator II premiere after-party as a couple.
