The 1% Club contestants are left baffled by a basic yoga pose – but would YOU have known it?

It was game over early for nearly a third of The 1% Club contestants this week after a yoga-themed brain teaser left viewers stretching their heads more than their hamstrings.

The ITV hit, hosted by Lee Mack,  saw 100 contestants attempt to win a huge cash prize.

The programme’s questions were put to the public, with the percentage who got it right determining the difficulty of each round.

Aptly, the final quiz is one that just 1 per cent of the public answered correctly.

However, this time the 70 percent question seemed to cause problems for some players and knocked 27 out of the game.

It read: ‘Which yoga position comes next in this sequence?’

Options A, B or C flashed up, giving contestants just 30 seconds to make their minds up.

Lee  revealed the correct answer was A, explaining: ‘The figure has one limb on the floor, then two, then three – so the next move needs four limbs down.’

But when Lee turned to Sarah, an ᴀssistant psychologist who had been eliminated, she explained her comfusing logic behind her answer.

‘I just went for the one that looked the comfiest really,’ she shrugged.

To which Lee asked what she’d deduced about him during the show, to which she quipped: ‘Very small IQ’.

But Lee was ready with a comeback: ‘Yeah, not me that’s out after round three though, is it?’ – causing an applause from the studio.

Next up for some light  on the question was Wain, another unlucky contestant who failed to crack the yoga code.

A professional singer, Wain turned out to be a George Michael tribute act – and after a bit of persuasion from Lee, gave the audience a taste of his talent.

‘I’m not going to lie Wain,’ Lee admitted. ‘When I saw you and heard you talk, that is not what I expected to come out of your mouth.’

‘I get that a lot,’ Wain replied, as Lee praised his vocals.

It wasn’t the only early mᴀss exodus of the night either – 14 hopefuls were knocked out in round one by a seemingly simple counting conundrum.

Lee asked: ‘Oliver, Emily and Rosie count from one to twenty taking turns. Oliver says 1, Emily 2, Rosie 3, and so on. Who will say number 20?’

After a brief pause, Lee dropped the answer: Emily. Because by the time they reach 18, Rosie finishes the trio’s rotation, leaving Oliver to say 19 and Emily to round it off with 20.
