Whether it’s taking a trip down Spice Girls memory lane or cheering on her children, Victoria Beckham is known for her personal Instagram posts.

And yesterday was no different as the designer told her husband David, ‘You complete me’, while he celebrated his 50th birthday.

She shared a video containing snaps of the couple and their four children with her 33million followers, alongside the caption: ‘When I look at this, I think, “Wow… how lucky am I!!”

‘You’re everything I could have dreamed of and more. Happy 50th!!! I love you and our beautiful family endlessly. You complete me.’

But while David whisked his family away on a private jet to Bordeaux for lunch and Paris for dinner, relations with his son Brooklyn appeared to be strained. Unlike his two younger brothers, Brooklyn did not wish his father a happy birthday on social media.

It comes after he and his wife Nicola Peltz both failed to congratulate Victoria on turning 51 two weeks ago.

But this did not seem to dampen David’s spirits as he sat down for the ‘perfect’ meal with his immediate family and their partners yesterday, in a trip meticulously planned by Victoria.

Online, he responded to his wife of almost 26 years with equal enthusiasm – and a series of pH๏τos of himself.

Cruz Beckham shared an Instagram story with featuring a picture of his father, and wrote ‘@davidbeckham happy birthday’

Romeo also shared an amusing snap of the birthday card he seemingly gave to his dad (above)

David captioned his post: ‘As I reflect on this birthday I’m very grateful for many things in my life, the teams I have played for, my teammates, managers, the fans, MY COUNTRY and being England captain, the children I have met over different charities I work with, my team in my business, and the friends I have around me. I feel truly blessed.

‘But my biggest accomplishment is and will always be my family.

‘My mum and dad who sacrificed so much for me to live my dream of becoming a footballer, my sisters who had to put up with following their brother around in the freezing cold watching me play and my amazing nan and granddad.’

Paying tribute to former Spice Girl Victoria, he added: ‘My wife and best friend of 28 years and my beautiful children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, you are the reason I get out of bed each day.

‘Thank you for making me smile and for making me a better man. I love you all so much. You are my world.’

The Mail has been told the lunch was a ‘family affair’. It is not known whether Brooklyn, 26, and his heiress wife Nicola, 30 – who live in the US –attended, but they posted pictures of themselves in London earlier this week.

Romeo, 22, and his girlfriend Kim Turnbull were present. As were Cruz, 20, and his partner Jackie Apostel, 29.

And the Mail can reveal that David’s celebrations will continue over the weekend as the family are set to enjoy a private dinner at a restaurant in west London tonight.

A stone’s throw away from the family home, Core in Notting Hill has been a longstanding favourite of David’s and he took Victoria there for a lavish breakfast last July to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

Its owner, Clare Smyth, who received the World’s Best Female Chef Award and was the first British woman to win three Michelin stars for her work, is a friend of the couple. 

The restaurant opened in 2017 and has received numerous awards including five AA Rosettes, and offers British food with the likes of duck, lamb and cod on their menu.

A seat at the a la carte table for lunch costs £195 per head and for dinner, £225. Ms Smyth was also the caterer for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and worked for Gordon Ramsay before she opened her own restaurant.

Gordon and his wife Tana are expected to attend the dinner, as are director Guy Ritchie and his wife Jacqui Ainsley, Victoria’s hairdresser Ken Paves and the couple’s personal trainer Bobby Rich.

But it won’t be quite the wild party that Victoria threw last year at Mayfair haunt Oswald’s.

One friend of the star said: ‘It’s more of a dinner than a big bash.’
