The cast of the new Legally Blonde series, produced by Reese Witherspoon, were spotted filming in Los Angeles on Friday.

Lexi Minetree, who Reese cast as the young Elle Woods after a four-month nationwide search, was seen filming shopping scenes with her co-stars on the iconic Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

The series is a prequel following Elle through her high school years – set in the 90s – years before she ended up at Harvard studying law.

Reese will executively produce the show, тιтled Elle – 24 years after starring as the iconic character in the first Legally Blonde film. 

For the Friday shoot, Lexi, 23, wore a pink tweed dress – an iconic look Elle sported in the film.

In the scenes being filmed on Friday, Lexi sported a pink tweed dress with a belt, while carrying a pink handbag. 

Lexi sported beige wedge heels while toting designer branded shopping bags.

Laura Kittrell and Caroline Dries will serve as showrunners for the project, which is set to air on Prime Video later this year. 

Reese is the executive producer, along with Marc Platt, Laura and Caroline. 

In February, Reese announced the news that Lexi got the role of Elle. 

In May 2024, Reese reprised her role a Elle Woods to announce a new Legally Blonde tv series.

The star is developing the Legally Blonde spinoff tv series with the help of her production company Hello Sunshine.

The star wore a pink tweed jacket and skirt like Elle as she went on stage at Amazon’s Upfronts in New York City in mid-May 2024.

Reese pretended to look for her dog Bruiser as she went on stage.

Then she said: ‘Guys, this is Bruiser! Thank you, I’m just glad you found him.’ to Jen Salke, Head of Amazon and MGM Studios.

Alan Moss, the vice president of global ad sales for Amazon Ads, accidentally dropped his pen.

Reese then did the famous ‘bend and snap’ her character does in the movie.

‘Alan, I got it. Because when you get nervous in front of a really big group of people that you’re trying to impress, all you have to do is bend and snap.’

Reese said of the project: ‘I had this crazy idea that the world would want to know the origin story of Elle Woods.’

Adding: ‘So here I am, to officially tell you the most amazing news every, which is that we’re going back to high school with Elle.’

‘Before she became the most famous Gemini vegetarian to graduate from Harvard law school, she was just a regular 90s high school girl.’
