Phil Foden channelled his inner Danniella Westbrook as he wore full Burberry for a shoot posted to Instagram on Wednesday.

The England footballer, 24, promoted the British luxury fashion brand by leafing through a clothes rack boasting a range of items at one of their stores.

In one snap, he donned a hooded jacket with some shorts, teaming them with some white-soled trainers, all boasting Burberry’s classic check.

In another, the Manchester City star wore a white T-shirt under his jacket, adding black-lensed gold-rimmed sunglᴀsses and white socks as he tied his shoelaces.

Phil also took time to relax on a fluffy cream chair in the shop, flashing his luxury gold watch with a turquoise face. 

He posted a couple of wider sH๏τs of the majestic building which houses the impressive clothing store.

The sports star captioned the update: ‘This store is [face exhaling emoji and OK hand emoji]. Thanks for having us @burberry.’

Phil is one of several footballers who have promoted the luxury brand in recent years, including England team-mates Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze and Cole Palmer, and Tottenham winger Son Heung-Min. 

The Man City forward’s all-Burberry ensemble had echoes of actress Danniella’s iconic display in 2008 which saw her stride down Bond Street, London, decked out in the brand.

At the time, the EastEnders star sported a Burberry mini skirt and handbag and dressed her daughter in a matching skirt from the fashion house, placing her in a buggy boasting the iconic checked pattern.

Phil has suffered a poor run of form for his team this season, struggling with injury and even experiencing abusive terrace chants about his mother Claire Rowlands.

Off the pitch, he and his long-term girlfriend, Rebecca Cooke, sparked engagement rumours after she was spotted wearing a large diamond ring in February.

The footballer is said to have whisked his beau away on a romantic trip to Paris for New Year’s Eve, where he reportedly proposed.

In pH๏τos obtained by The Sun, Rebecca was seen trying to conceal the large ring while out and about.

A source told the publication: ‘The pair of them have been together since they were young and their family and friends have been expecting them to get engaged for a while.

‘The time seemed right for Phil to pop the question. He took her away to Paris for New Year’s Eve and when they came back Rebecca had a sparkling diamond ring on her engagement finger.’

‘The ring is absolutely huge. It’s a mᴀssive diamond. She loves it and she’s very proud of wearing it although she hasn’t announced anything about it,’ they added.

The insider also hinted that a potential wedding could be a star-studded affair, with Premier League players and glamorous WAGs in attendance. 

Phil and Rebecca have been childhood sweethearts since their teenage years, after meeting at a party. They are parents to three children.

She gave birth to their third child in June, with Phil flying back from the Euros to be by her side in the delivery room.

A source close to the star told MailOnline at the time: ‘Phil is very close to his family, particularly his parents.

‘They, along with Rebecca, have been a constant source of support for Ronnie when he has felt the pressure and when things have got tough.’

In an interview with Man City, Phil spoke about being there for the birth of Ronnie, saying: ‘I was there for the birth. I walked out of the room, gave it a little tear and then went back in like nothing happened.’

This month, he put his stunning £3million former home complete with its own cinema, indoor pool and five bathrooms, up for sale.

The Man City star moved out of the mansion in Prestbury, Cheshire, last year after a raucous party led to the police being called.

The England midfielder has moved into a more isolated home in the countryside with his family but still within commuting distance of City’s training ground in east Manchester.
