Olivia Colman showed off her playful side as she starred in the new Warburtons advert shows her playful personality backstage.
The Peep Show actress, 51, is the latest star to team up with the family bakers – after acting royalty such as Robert De Niro and Samuel Jackson – and her appearance certainly didn’t disappoint.
The new two-minute-long advert sees Olivia act as a special agent visiting the Warburtons bakery to determine whether or not their crumpet is worthy of being considered a ‘National Treasure’.
But we already know the answer – of course they are – and in an interview on-set, the actress agrees.
‘Welcome to the latest blockbuster ad by Warburtons,’ she says, ‘the guys who make the best crumpets in Britain’.

The behind the scenes video shows the advert’s directors and producers breaking into laughter in between takes at Olivia’s brilliant performance, where she stars alongside Warburton’s chairman, Jonothan Warburton.
Or, as he’s referred to in the advert, J-Dubs or Baker Bo, – nicknames which the pair joke about off-camera.
Olivia asks: ‘What if now everyone in your company starts calling you Baker Boy?’
‘Well, J-Dubs stuck from the last advert,’ Jonothan replies.
‘But that’s quite cool,’ says Olivia.
Olivia’s performance in the advert is so convincing that they even go on to joke about the possiblity of The Crown actress being named the next James Bond.
‘Now Daniel Craig has retired, you never know,’ Jonothan quips.
To which Olivia says: ‘You be Bond, I’ll be M. Sold!’

Olivia sparked a debate by revealing she likes yoghurt and strawberries on her crumpets for breakfast
At the end of the advert, the actress reveals she wasn’t a secret agent all along
Throughout the advert, Olivia reviews a range of crumpet toppings including classics such as ʙuттer, jam and cheese and slightly odd choices such as avocado and mustard.
Eventually though, the 51-year-old sparked a debate by revealing she likes yoghurt and strawberries on her crumpets for breakfast.
The ad comes as 71 per cent of crumpet-eating Brits say they consider the humble crumpet a cornerstone of British culture, while 41 per cent agree they deserve National Treasure status and should be ‘protected at all costs’.
The research also showed ʙuттer is the front runner when it comes to our favourite crumpet topping, 75 per cent, followed by jam, 30 per cent, but only 23 per cent have tried cheese and even fewer, four per cent, have tried avocado.
Despite Colman’s clear contempt for a mustard-topped crumpet in the ad, not everyone agrees, with a surprising eight per cent of respondents saying that the tangy condiment pairs well with the iconic British staple.
Olivia Colman was announced earlier this month to star in Netflix’s Pride & Prejudice six-part series.
In the new advert, Olivia refers to the Warburtons chairman as Baker Boy
The Crown’s Emma Corrin will star as Elizabeth Bennet, with Slow Horses’ Jack Lowden portraying Mr. Darcy, with Olivia taking on the role of Mrs. Bennet.
The adaptation will be penned by Dolly Alderton and directed by Euros Lyn, who will also serve as an executive producer alongside Emma.
Filming for the series will begin later this year in the UK.
Olivia is also starring alongside other British actor Benedict Cumberbatch in the remake of Hollywood classic War Of The Roses which will be released later this year in September.
