Maya Hawke has sparked engagement rumours after she was spotted wearing a ring on Monday.

The Stranger Things star, 26, was seen on a stroll around Downtown Manhattan, New York City, sporting a sparkly diamond on her ring finger.

She looked stylish in an all-denim outfit, sporting a light blue denim jacket over a black-and-white horizontal-striped polo top as she spoke on the phone.

The actress, daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, added matching jeans and completed her look with black Prada shoes, toting her belongings around in a black handbag and wearing her light brunette locks up in a ponytail.

But it was the incredible ring, the only piece of jewellery she wore, that caused a stir, prompting a wave of speculation about a potential engagement.

Maya has been with singer boyfriend Christian Lee Hutson, 34, since 2022 and described the divorcé as a ‘poet musical genius’ last year after he produced her third studio album Chaos Angel.

She previously dated singer Spencer Barnett and The Sandman star Tom Sturridge. 

Maya explained earlier this year that she ‘can’t wait to’ take on the тιтular role in Signature Theatre Company’s off-Broadway production of Eurydice.

Les Waters is directing the adaptation of Sarah Ruhl’s 2003 play, which runs from May 13 to June 22.

The Inside Out 2 actress – who gets 611K monthly listeners on Spotify – is then scheduled to kick off the 20-date European leg of her Chaos Angel World Tour on June 21 at Vega in Copenhagen.

In December, Maya wrapped up her breakout role as lesbian Robin Buckley in the fifth (and final) season of Stranger Things, which premieres later this year on Netflix.

She is also set to portray young musician Calista in Stephen Frears’ upcoming 1977-set dramedy Wilder & Me alongside Christoph Waltz, Jon Hamm, and John Turturro.

Earlier this month, Maya unveiled her newly-darkened hair while attending the Broadway opening of John Proctor Is The Villain, which was held at the Booth Theatre in Manhattan.

The nepo baby shares the same striking features as her famous mother Uma but she’s three inches shorter. 

The resemblance is even closer when Maya flashes a big smile just like the Oscar-nominated actress, who turned 55 on Tuesday. 

Uma shares Maya and Levon, 23, from her five-year marriage to former Gattaca leading man Ethan, which ended in 2005 amid rumours he had had an affair with model Jen Perzow, and later married their former nanny Ryan Shawhughes.

‘There are so many people who deserve to have this kind of life who don’t, but I think I’m comfortable with not deserving it and doing it anyway,’ SAG Award nominee Maya admitted on the Happy Sad Confused podcast in February.

‘And I know that my not doing it wouldn’t help anyone.’

Maya continued: ‘I saw two paths when I was first starting, and one of them was: change your name, get a nose job and go to open casting roles. It’s okay to be made fun of when you’re in rarefied air.

‘It’s a lucky place to be. My relationships with my parents are really honest and positive, and that supersedes anything anyone can say about it.’
