Anna Kendrick had her first interview after posing awkwardly alongside co-star Blake Lively at the Another Simple Favor premiere red carpet in NYC.

The 39-year-old Pitch Perfect star was a guest on ABC morning chat and news show Good Morning America on Monday where she talked her new mystery flick as many viewers wondered if she would be touching on the rumored feud with the 37-year-old Gossip Girl alum.

Anna opted not to discuss Blake at all during the short interview aside from giving a brief synopsis of the sequel to 2018’s A Simple Favor and where their characters stand.

She said: ‘Blake’s character went to prison and got out of prison through mysterious circumstances. You know, my character went through a lot in the first movie, so she’s a little older and wiser but still very awkward. We love that for her. Yeah. 

‘It’s sort of like I get invited, blackmailed, into being like the maid of honor at this very glamorous Italian wedding for Blake’s character. I know something suspicious is going on but then, you know, they start dropping like flies and I have to figure out the situation.’

She also went on to describe the experience of shooting the film in Italy as she talked about sightseeing, eating, and director Paul Feig but no mention of her A-lister castmate.

Anna described: ‘I basically feel like the director just paid for the most glamorous expensive vacation of my life, so I love that for me. Italy was incredible. I was there for about three months. I didn’t have a time off but I went to The Coliseum. Cried in front of everybody. Embarrᴀssing. 

‘Yeah. I ate so much. I never eat enough. Like, they get mad at you. They get very, very offended if you don’t — I want to try everything so I order way too much. Eyes are always bigger than my stomach. You didn’t like it? I have to be like, I’m just short.’

The Oscar-nominated actress was stylish as always as she sported a red patterned sleeveless mini dress featuring a burgundy velvet detailing down the torso and the hemline which matched with her heels. 

The stunner accessorized with a matching patent leather burgundy bag along with designer shades with dark red lenses.

Her strawberry blonde locks were worn down as they flowed like waves down her shoulders.

She accentuated her porcelain skin with complementary make-up topped off with shiny light pink lip gloss.

It comes amid speculation of a clash between them, and as Lively’s ongoing legal battle against It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni stretches on.

Fans initially suspected that there was bad blood among the actresses earlier this year.

One point of contention was said to be over billing for their forthcoming movie, while it’s also been claimed that Kendrick is upset Lively’s legal ordeal with Justin has overshadowed the new film. 

Fans’ concerns were stoked when Anna and Blake appeared at SXSW in Texas in March.

When asked in a video shared by ET what it means to be working with Blake again, Kendrick replied elusively while signing autographs, answering, ‘Oh, you know…’ 

A source had previously told E! News, ‘There is no drama. They are not enemies. They are coworkers, friends and get along well.’

It was added that the two Hollywood vets ‘look forward to promoting the movie along with the rest of the cast.’

Another Simple Favor director Paul Feig also weighed in on the purported drama, writing on X in January, according to E!, ‘This is total BS. Sorry. Don’t believe anything you read on social media these days.’

Last December, Lively alleged in legal paperwork that Baldoni Sєxually harᴀssed her throughout the making of their movie and engineered a smear campaign against her.

The mother-of-three also outlined missed work opportunities in the explosive lawsuit. 

One of the missed work gigs listed was hosting the season 50 premiere of Saturday Night Live in September, which came the month after the feature was released.

‘The effects on Ms. Lively’s professional life were immediate and substantial,’ said the document.

‘Given the ongoing nature of the campaign and the ᴀssociated negative public sentiment, Ms. Lively did not believe she could proceed with public appearances or events without being forced to openly discuss what happened on set,’ the filing stated.

Justin vehemently denies her allegations and filed the  $400million defamation and extortion lawsuit against her, Ryan and their publicist Leslie Sloane. It is due to be heard in court in March 2026.
