Poppy Delevingne enjoyed a very posh baby shower last week as she prepares to welcome her first child in a matter of days.

The 38-year-old model and actress was joined by close friends and family at the pink-themed bash in London last Friday, co-organised by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s matchmaker, Violet Von Westenholz.

Poppy’s sisters, top model Cara and midwife Chloe, and parents, property developer Charles and charity founder Pandora, were among guests.

Cara’s arrival came as a huge surprise to Poppy, who thought her younger sister, based in Los Angeles, wouldn’t be able to come due to her busy schedule.

Homeware stylist Alice Naylor-Leyland described her appearance as ‘the sweetest surprise’ as she shared a pH๏τo on Instagram of the pair hugging.

Violet – who Prince Harry confirmed in his memoir, Spare, set him up with Meghan – wrote ‘Happy baby shower, beauty,’ as she shared a sweet snap of the mother-to-be.

Other friends at Poppy’s do included Keith Richards’ model daughter Ella Richards, Alexa Chung, Ray Winstone’s actress daughter Jaime Winstone, Lady Clara Paget and fashion stylist Sophia Hesketh – daughter of former Conservative Party treasurer Lord Hesketh.

Poppy is expecting a baby girl with her boyfriend, billionaire businessman Archie Keswick, who was at the bash.

He is the ex-partner of Poppy’s old friend Sienna Miller, who was not pictured at the event despite being spotted in London just hours prior. 

The 43-year-old actress had been out in the capital the night before with her boyfriend Oli Green, 28, for PR guru Fran Cutler’s birthday.

The venue for Poppy’s party, a residential property in West London, was decorated with pink and white balloons with the word ‘Peanut’ written across them – Poppy’s affectionate nickname for her unborn child – pink candles and several life-size flamingo ornaments.

But the piece de resistance were the beautiful pink and white flowers curated by society florist Willow Crossley, who also created the floral arrangements for Harry and Meghan’s evening reception at Frogmore House during their wedding in 2018.

‘An unusual cake brief,’ admits Alice Naylor-Leyland, who helped organise the party. Unusual but delicious as Poppy revealed the next morning that she gobbled down a slice for breakfast.

Poppy discovered she was pregnant at London Fashion Week last autumn. She noticed during her second fitting for a Burberry show that her outfit felt тιԍнтer than the first session, two weeks before. She took a test straight away.

‘She really is all I’ve ever wanted,’ she told ELLE in January. 

‘Obviously, I would have been fine with either and when I was younger I always thought when I get pregnant, I wouldn’t find out, but the second we got told we could find out, we did. 

‘I’m so excited. I come from all girls, we’re very girl heavy. Girls are great.’

She said her sisters were ‘elated’ when they found out the news, adding: ‘It just feels like such an extraordinary privilege to be able to do this, to be able to have a baby at this age and at this time, and when it happened, I couldn’t really believe it. It still feels really surreal.’

Poppy was previously married to aviation businessman James Cook for eight years. 

They tied the knot in 2014 at St Paul’s Church in Kensington, London, with a guestlist including Alexa Chung, Georgia May Jagger, Princess Beatrice, Sienna Miller and Suki Waterhouse.

Archie’s family has a reported private fortune of £6.35bn and he is no stranger to a high-profile relationship, having previously dated actress Sienna Miller (pictured together in 2021)

Poppy broke her silence on the split last September, saying she ‘will always have a good relationship’ with James. 

She shared: ‘There’s a lot of love and respect there. It just no longer worked for us. I met him when I was 20 years old, and 15 years is a long time… I think 15 years to be with someone is a success. 

‘And sometimes these things just have to come to an end. When it did end, that feeling, it was this sort of, like, bubbling-up of freedom. I felt sort of 20 all over again.’

James has moved on too. He got engaged to pH๏τographer’s agent Lauren Brown earlier this month while on holiday in Bhutan. Lauren described the trip as ‘a real life fairy tale.’
