Grace viewers shared a lot of complaints just minutes into the ITV finale as they called out a string of baffling blunders.
The last episode of the ITV crime series aired on Sunday and saw John Simm, 54, play detective superintendent Roy Grace.
Based on Peter James’ novel Roy Grace, the show saw a murder investigation unfold and the trial of a drug lord.
Other cast members in the police drama included Richie Campbell, 38, Laura Elphinstone, 41, Zoë Tapper, 43, and Sam Hoare, 43.
However, many watchers expressed issues with the plot after Grace only discovered a hoard of drugs hidden on a van at the border after weighing the vehicle.
Some posted on X: ‘There is one point that everyone has overlooked… They went into the trailer with a search dog, why didn’t it detect and indicate the presence of the drugs?’

‘Obviously I have no direct experience but I’m not convinced that a tire full of drugs would put a 1600kg car ‘well over its usual weight”
Others pointed out issues with the trial and said: ‘How can the husband who was on trial be allowed to then be allowed to defend his wife who set him up. Does conflict of interest etc not come into play?’
‘You can’t shout out evidence in court that hasn’t been through disclosure!’
‘Hmmm… the jury doesn’t have to elect a foreperson until they start deliberating?!’
‘So now the detective is allowed to become the barrister.’
While some viewers seemed to enjoy the finale and posted: ‘Tonight’s episode was very entertaining. #Grace.’
‘Another brilliant episode of Grace tonight cannot believe end of series 5 already roll on series 6.well done cast and crew for making this series so good.’
It comes after viewers expressed complaints at the very start of the series earlier this month.
Not everybody watching seemed to be impressed with the episode – and actually confessed they want Vera, which ran between 2011 and 2025, to come back instead.
Other cast members in the police drama included Richie Campbell, 38, Laura Elphinstone, 41, (both pictured), Zoë Tapper, 43, and Sam Hoare, 43
However, many watchers expressed issues with the plot while others expressed how much they enjoyed the episode
One wrote: ‘#Grace This is stupid. Bring back #Vera.’
Another said: ‘#grace used to enjoy this but it’s now jumped the shark. Totally implausible plot. Too many coincidences and “lucky breaks”. And unrealistic.’
A third chimed in: ‘Afraid I really didn’t think last nights #Grace on #ITV was very good. Instead of sticking to the basis of each book of #PeterJames they are now hashing different ones together and it doesn’t make sense at all.’
A fourth tweeted: ‘This is bloody stupid. Bring back #Vera.’
Grace is available to stream on ITVX.
