Britain’s Got Talent semi-final descends into chaos as the show comes to an abrupt halt after TWO acts are not ready to perform

Britain’s Got Talent’s live semi-final descended into chaos on Saturday as the show was forced to halt two times amid separate issues.

The first incident came as hosts Ant and Dec announced that eight-year-old magician Teddy Magic was unable to perform in his ᴀssigned slot.

As the pair attempted to fill the time by chatting to judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli, it was revealed that the youngster would be returning to showcase his magic tricks later in the show.

Amid Teddy’s delay, Simon’s golden buzzer act Vinnie McKee then came out to perform in the second performance slot instead.

It was later announced that Teddy would not be performing during the show at all and would hopefully return later in the series.

Meanwhile, the ITV talent show was hit with another disaster as dance act The Blackouts were struck with a technical issue.

As the show was brought to a stop for a second time, Ant and Dec once again pᴀssed the time by chatting to the judges before the act was ready.

Head judge Simon couldn’t hide his frustration at another blunder to the show, crossing his arms and looking visibly peeved as the act scrambled to get themselves ready backstage.

And The Blackouts certainly made up for the awkward tech issue as they blew everyone away with the impressive performance – so much so that Amanda reached for her golden buzzer.

After praising the act for stepping it up from their first audition, Amanda gushed: ‘I cannot wait to see what you do in the final.’

Watching the dramatic scenes unfold, BGT fans were quick to take to X to comment on the technical issues.

They penned: ‘I think the tech problems are far more entertaining!

‘Britain’s Got Technical problems’, ‘This show is absolute chaos tonight!’

‘Too many technical issues, Simon looks furious.’

As the pair attempted to fill the time by chatting to the judges, it was revealed that the youngster would be returning to showcase his magic tricks later in the show.

Elsewhere, viewers had plenty to say about young Teddy’s no-show, with many speculating that he may have suffered with stage fright and that there should be an age limit with the acts.

They wrote: ‘Again like previous years bringing up issue if young children should be under such pressure and exposure in primetime for the sake of entertainment???’

‘I thought there was an age limit on this show, especially for the live shows, to avoid situations like this? Unfair to put so much pressure on a child.’

‘Parents pushing their kid Teddy to do this I think he’s far too young’

‘I don’t think the little magician should perform too much pressure on such a young kid man. Needs to be an age limit teenager and above maybe.’

‘Really should be a minimum age requirement for sole acts. 8 years old is too young!’

‘Maybe bgt need an age restriction. Poor little guy if he’s struggling.’

The semi-final show ended with Simon’s act Vinnie McKee winning and being put through to the grand final.

He narrowly beat Alesha’s act Linda Mudzenda who finished second and magician Eden Choi in third place.

Speaking after his win, Scottish Vinnie said: ‘I’m flabbergasted’, adding: ‘Thank you. This is mad, this is crazy, I’m loving it!’

Britain’s’ Got Talent continues on ITV1 AND ITVX.
