Heidi Klum turned heads in an eye-catching ensemble as she stepped out in NYC on Wednesday – but was also spotted with what appeared to be blood on her chest. 

The TV personality, 51 – who put on a leggy display in BTS snaps of Germany’s Next Top Model – flashed a cheerful smile as she made her way towards an awaiting SUV while spending time in the Theater District. 

She was unbothered by the blood-like stain above the neckline of her outfit – and soon revealed the reason behind it by sharing a new post to her main Instagram page.

Klum attended a showing of the Broadway revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Blvd – and was able to pop backstage to briefly mingle with Nicole Scherzinger who took on the lead role of Norma Desmond. 

She was covered in fake blood following the performance as she excitedly embraced Heidi and the two stars paused for memorable pH๏τos together. 

In the caption of the short reels, the supermodel typed out to her followers: ‘Thank you for a unforgettable night @nicolescherzinger @sunsetblvdmusical.’

Heidi dressed for the night out wearing a figure-hugging, leopard-print jumpsuit as well as matching, heeled boots. 

She layered the look with a dark brown, leather jacket that she left unfastened at the front.

The beauty accessorized the ensemble with a dainty, chained necklace as well as a pair of fashionable shades. 

The mom-of-four easily carried her phone in her hand and also a black clutch to hold a few items she needed during the excursion. 

The Project Runway star’s blonde locks were parted in the middle, and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in voluminous waves. 

Sunset Blvd. returned to the Broadway stage last year, and shows are scheduled until July 13 of this year. 

While Scherzinger is portraying Desmond, other cast members include Mandy Gonzalez (Norma Desmond and guest appearances), Tom Francis, Grace Hodgett Young, David Thaxton and Rashidra Scott. 

The musical is based on the 1950 Hollywood film of the same name – which had starred William Holden and Gloria Swanson.

During Wednesday’s matinee showing, the theater experienced technical difficulties – but Nicole proved that the show must go on. 

The former Pussycat Dolls member used a bullhorn while on stage as she belted out lyrics, per a video on X shared by the musical’s main account.

The caption read: ‘Despite technical difficulties at today’s matinee, Nicole Scherzinger found a way to keep the show going for all you beautiful people out there in the dark…’ 

Heidi has been keeping busy as she films shows such as Germany’s Next Top Model and also the revival of Project Runway. 

In 2004, she took on the role of a host and judge of Bravo’s Project Runway – which she was also an executive producer on and co-hosted with Tim Gunn. 

Klum garnered a number of Emmy nominations – winning in 2013 for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Compeтιтion Program.

After 16 seasons, she notably departed the compeтιтion series in 2018. However, earlier this year in January, it was announced that she will return as host for the show’s upcoming 21st season.

The new season is set to premiere with a total of 10 episodes and will be available on Freeform, Disney+ and Hulu.

However, Tim Gunn revealed that he will not be returning to Project Runway alongside Klum during an interview with People a few months earlier. 

‘Heidi sent me a text saying, “There’s talk about bringing back with us, with you and me, and would you do it?” And I said, “Would I do it? Of course, there’s not a moment of hesitation in me,”‘ he recalled. 

However, no one ever reached out to him about re-joining the series. He said Klum, ‘sent me a text asking, “Are you happy with your contract?” I said, “Well, I haven’t seen a contract.”

‘So, I called my agent and he knew things were going on, but he contacted the executive producers of this new show, and they said, “We don’t want him.”‘ 

They had instead offered that he could make a brief cameo in the first episode only but Gunn had questioned, ‘What do I do? Wave from a bus?

‘Heidi comes to see me at the retirement home and we play croquet No, thank you. And as Heidi would say, “You’re either in or you’re out.” And I’m out. So, I wasn’t asked to join.’

At first, Tim admitted to feeling ‘humiliated’ but then became grateful for the time he did have on the show in past years. 

He also gave a special shout out to Heidi for supporting him. ‘She was really upset and she kept saying, “I’m fighting for you, I’m fighting for you.”

However, Tim Gunn revealed that he will not be returning to Project Runway alongside Klum during an interview with People a few months earlier; seen in 2016 in NYC 

But in February, it was confirmed that Klum will be stepping down from the role as AGT judge – and is being replaced by Mel B, according to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline

‘ Which is lovely of her and nothing that I should expect. And I said, “Heidi, just take good care of yourself. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.”‘ 

Heidi is also known as one of the judges on America’s Got Talent along with Sofia Vergara, Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel.

But in February, it was confirmed that Klum will be stepping down from the role – and is being replaced by Mel B, according to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline. 

The 20th season of the hit compeтιтion series will premiere later this year on May 27.
