Glamorous TV star reveals how Islam ‘saved’ her after she questioned her Church of England upbringing

Real Housewives Of Cheshire star Paige Chohan has revealed how Islam ‘saved my life’ after questioning her Church of England upbringing.

Paige, 33, is currently starring in the 18th series of the ITVBe reality show alongside her entrepreneur husband Amir, 36 and their daughter Nora, 13 months.

And she’s excited that her third season on RHOC explores her journey with faith.

Paige grew up in a Church of England family but converted to Islam later in life having studied different faiths from the age of 17, including Christianity, Buddhism and Hinduism.

‘I was able to go on such a journey at a young age and I found a connection with Islam, which grew over time,’ she explained in an interview with new! Magazine.

Paige explained that it was important to her that she was open about her faith on the show, which she hopes will help viewers connect with her more.

‘I love sharing more about what changed my life for the better and what gave me direction and perspective when I was growing up. Islam really did save me and give me a lot of clarity,’ she said.

Paige has explained on the show how her parents weren’t strict Protestants and were more relaxed towards faith, but she wanted to explore religion further as a teenager.

‘I kind of sat there and questioned if there was more meaning, I wanted to explore,’ she told new.

Becoming a mother has only reaffirmed the importance of faith and moral values in her life. ‘It’s not just about you, it’s yourself, your partner,  you’re doing what you want, when you want. It doesn’t become about you any more – that’s a huge change.’

The Real Housewives of Cheshire first premiered in 2015 and was the first British version of the hit US Real Housewives format.

It follows the lives of the glamorous and affluent cast, and is ITVBe’s biggest series after The Only Way Is EsSєx.

Original cast members included WAG and interior design queen Dawn Ward and fellow WAG Tanya Barnsley.

MailOnline revealed earlier this year that a London-based series was in the works and producers are hoping to attract some big-name stars.

Announced in October 2024 by streaming platform Hayu, the series aimed to replicate the success of its US counterparts, such as Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Producers planned to feature glamorous businesswomen rather than traditional celebrities or WAGs.

However, efforts to find London’s elite housewives is currently proving difficult.

A source shared in January: ‘They’re looking for businesswomen rather than celebs, not going down the WAG or celeb route. It’s not working as no one wants to do it.

‘They first asked her about casting back in August. It’s now January, and they’re still not cast. They keep sending messages saying, ‘Have you got anyone?”

High-profile figures such as Holly Valance, fashion entrepreneur Trinny Woodall and Selling Sunset’s Chelsea Lazkani have reportedly declined due to other commitments, while socialite Fran Cutler has hinted at possible involvement.
