Celebrity Big Brother’s Trisha Goddard’s ‘shady’ backstage comment that sparked explosive on-air clash with Tiffany Pollard revealed

Celebrity Big Brother’s Trisha Goddard’s ‘shady’ backstage comment that sparked explosive on-air clash with Tiffany Pollard revealed

Celebrity Big Brother star Trisha Goddard’s alleged ‘rude’ backstage comment which led to her on-air clash with Tiffany Pollard has been revealed.

The pair had a tense confrontation during Tuesday’s episode of Late and Live following Trisha’s eviction as Tiffany, 43, accused her of being ‘rude’ backstage.

Now, Tiffany has claimed a comment made by talk show host Trisha, 67, backstage had led to the on-air flare-up as she gave an insight into the clash.

According to The Sun, Trisha made a ‘shady’ remark about her career, which led to her then accusing her of being ‘rude’ on-screen.

She told the publication’s Celebrity Big Brother Breakdown podcast: ‘She was rude upstairs when we were getting briefed for the episode.

‘So basically, you know how they tell you ”well Tiff, you’re gonna do this and that.”

‘So they were explaining my segment to me and I was gonna be a news anchor. She was like, ”Oh, but it’ll be a very small time news anchor.”

‘And I said, ”Well, you know what sweetie? Do not throw shade up here at me, wait till we go downstairs and the cameras are on us because we can really go at it and have it be a TV moment”.

‘But then she goes ”Well, that was really a compliment Tiff, but you didn’t understand that a small town, small time TV host means that you’re good at it”.

Tiffany added: ‘I don’t understand that. Yeah, I don’t know what she was trying to say there. You would think it was shade when she said it.

‘So yeah, that’s why I asked her. I was like, ”well you were very comfortable being rude with me upstairs”.

‘One thing about me, sweetie I don’t bite my tongue. It’s too thick for me to do that.’

MailOnline has contacted Trisha’s representatives for comment.

Trisha became the second housemate to be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house but was quickly embroiled in drama with Tiffany on Late and Live.

Now, In a new interview with The Sun, Tiffany, 43, has revealed the backstage comment from talk show host Trisha, 67, that reportedly triggered their fiery exchange on the show (L-R Trisha, Harriet Rose, and Tiffany)

The pair shocked viewers with a very awkward on-air confrontation following Trisha’s eviction.

During the spin-off show, viewers were intrigued about what had gone on when host Will Best asked Trisha: ‘Is it bad out here in the real world?’

Trisha responded: ‘I could’ve run back in, but no honestly by the time I got here, I’ve been used to studios like this for 35 years, and so I felt at home.’

Tiffany then interjected from across the room: ‘Oh that’s why you were so rude to me upstairs during the briefing when you told me that I was small because you felt at home to be rude.’

Fans were left baffled over what argument had prompted Tiffany’s cryptic remark on-air.

Trisha had signed up for Celebrity Big Brother to prove to patients they should ‘not be scared of living’ after being diagnosed with terminal stage four cancer.

After going head-to-head with Patsy Palmer and Jack P Shepherd in the public vote, Trisha received the fewest number of votes to be saved and was the second star to leave.

However, tensions quickly flared as the pair shocked viewers with an awkward on-air confrontation following Trisha's eviction

As Trisha headed out of the house, the presenter admitted she was ‘a bit sad’ to be leaving the show.

Speaking to hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best, Trisha brushed off the housemates’ reasons for nominating her, especially Chesney Hawkes’ that conversations with her felt like being on her talk show.

She said: ‘That’s actually a great compliment… No because we all said we were all scratching around in the dirt to find something negative to stay around each other.’

The star also reflected on her decision to sign up for the show, admitting it was a welcome break for her from cancer treatment.

She added: ‘Really, it meant a lot, it meant a lot, it was respite it was a holiday from having to think about cancer, because with the BB team and with my team in the Stes so I didn’t have to think of the next scan, and I could be like a child again.

‘Yes I did talk about cancer because I had to, and it is part of my life, as it is for 3.4 million Brits. It was just a break from having to think about it.

‘Heavy subjects came up now and again, but it was just a break!’

Trisha received her terminal diagnosis 20 months ago and received palliative care while in the house.

Tiffany later hinted that the drama started off-camera, claiming Trisha was 'rude' to her during the episode briefing backstage (pictured on This Morning this month)

Trisha has secondary breast cancer – meaning the disease started in the breast and spread to another part of the body – for which there is treatment but no cure.

In February last year, she revealed her cancer had returned after previously being given the all-clear.

As well as having her own private room during her stay in the house, the broadcaster had with her ‘a bag full of meds’ amid her ongoing cancer treatment.

Celebrity Big Brother airs on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
