The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood has been at the center of a firestorm after complaining about a ‘cruel’ British teeth Saturday Night Live joke.

The talented 31-year-old has been open about taking pride in her teeth imperfections after being bullied about them growing up.

But recent controversy came when she could not help but hit back at a mean-spirited SNL sketch that mocked her teeth over the weekend.

Aimee is the latest star to proudly show off their natural teeth in a world of celebrities who have veneers, implants, gum contouring, crowns, whitening, and other dental procedures.

Some of the ‘flaws’ A-listers were born with in regards to their teeth include gaps, overcrowding, being crooked, and discoloration.

Celebrities like Vanessa Paradis, Jewel, Willem Dafoe, Timothee Chalamet and Kirsten Dunst have embraced their natural teeth and whether or not they should have cosmetic dental work done or not has been up for debate in many cases for years.

Now DailyMail.com takes a look at all the celebrities who have bravely refused to ‘fix’ their imperfect teeth…. 

 

Vanessa Paradis

Vanessa’s incisors are considered by the French as ‘dents du bonheur’ which means ‘lucky teeth’.

The singer also said at the time that she doesn’t feel the need to get any cosmetic work due to most of her work being in Europe.

She explained: ‘I don’t work in America, so I don’t feel the pressure.’

In a recent interview with British GQ, Aimee explained that White Lotus creator Mike White had to ‘fight’ to cast her, which made her feel insecure.

She continued: ‘When someone (not a producer) told me Mike fought for me it was said in a nice way.

In the GQ article, Aimee dove into the insecurity, saying, ‘My little head goes: “HBO didn’t want me. And I know why HBO didn’t want me, it’s because I’m ugly.”‘

‘Mike had to say, “Please let me have the ugly girl!” That was the thing that was in my head,’ she continued.

Aimee has been praised online for leaving her buck teeth natural, instead of caving into the artificial beauty standards of Hollywood.

During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, the actress marveled: ‘I can’t believe the impact my teeth are having. Americans can’t get over them.

‘Even the way White Lotus fans are talking about me and my teeth – that I don’t have veneers or Botox – it feels a bit rebellious.’
