Jamie Laing has admitted he ‘hasn’t been great’ since completing his brutal 150 mile ultra marathon challenge for Comic Relief last month.
The BBC Radio 1 presenter, 36, had the whole nation behind him as he ran 30 miles for five consecutive days across the country, raising an incredible £2.3 million for charity.
And reflecting on the run after a month, the former Made In Chelsea star admitted he still hasn’t recovered from the ‘traumatic’ challenge.
Speaking in a special episode of his podcast Great Company, Jamie confessed: ‘Since then I haven’t felt great.’
Despite heading on holiday in the following days for a luxury holiday with his wife Sophie Habboo, he explained: ‘I couldn’t switch off.
‘I think when you put your body through something pretty traumatic like that it’s pretty hard to switch off.

‘And with it there came a lot of pressure and people saying a lot of things and that was quite a lot to handle. People were saying some really lovely things, but with that there comes negative things as well.
‘And I normally don’t let anything effect me but I was letting things effect me a little bit, I don’t know why.’
Physically Jamie is also still not 100 per cent back to normal either as he admitted his feet still haven’t recovered.
‘Feet are sore, but they are ok. I tried to play tennis today and I can’t really move still but my brain and body are getting back to normal which is good.’
Jamie also opened up about the heartfelt reason he was able to keep going in his lowest moment after hearing the incredible story of a 12-year-old girl battling cancer.
Admitting how he almost gave up he explained: ‘I really thought I was going to give up. I was thinking about how I was going to make excuses to give up.
‘But then I was on the radio with Greg James and he told us the story of a 12-year-old who had donated her pocket money and she was going through chemo and I was like Are you kidding me? This 12 year old girl is going through so much more pain than me.
‘So many other things that I can’t possibly even imagine and she is donating her money and I am sat here thinking I can’t do it.’
He added: ‘And with it there came a lot of pressure… And I normally don’t let anything effect me but I was letting things effect me a little bit, I don’t know why’
Taking to his Instagram Story, Jamie also addressed his fans about opening up as he penned: ‘To be totally honest, I’ve not quite felt fully back to normal since completing the challenge’

Taking to his Instagram Story, Jamie also addressed his fans about opening up as he penned: ‘To be totally honest, I’ve not quite felt fully back to normal since completing the challenge, but I wanted to be open with you all and say that wherever you are, and whatever you’re going through you really are not alone – people are truly amazing and when we support each other the world is a much brighter place that it can seem.
‘It’s ok to admit when you’re not OK – in fact it’s more than OK, it’s incredibly strong’.
It comes after Jamie treated fans to a series of foot pictures as he recovered following the ultra marathon.
After sharing a swollen snap of his feet in the first few days post run, luckily Jamie shared he was on the road to recovery as he reported to his 1.5million followers that the swelling of his feet was slowly going down.
Snapping a close up picture of them showing his blackened toenail he wrote: ‘Starting to look better team!!!’
Days earlier, Jamie took to his Instagram Stories with a more gruesome snap of his ‘battered’ feet which were swollen and one toe nail almost falling off.
Comparing them to the oversized trotters of Hobbits from Lord Of The Rings he wrote: ‘My feet are so swollen!!! They’re battered and my toe nail is about to fall off’.
‘They look a little bit like hobbit feet. Ones thing for sure they aren’t looking pretty’.
Jamie also revealed a badly ‘chafed penis’ was just one of the injuries he’d suffered during the challenge.
In his video diary from the run, which featured in the latest episode of his and wife Sophie Habboo’s NewlyWeds podcast, Jamie revealed he’d been forced to ‘Vaseline up’ after hurting his manhood as well as his feet.
He said: ‘My feet hurt, I’ve got blisters on my feet one of my toe nails has gone black which is not a pretty sight.

‘I had chafing on the worst part you can have chafing, on my penis there I said it, so I had to Vaseline that up’.
Following the run, he appeared on Comic Relief’s live show as he hobbled onto the stage and told hosts Alison Hammond and Joel Dommett that his ‘body was bad’ and joked: ‘I should have just taken the train here.’
Wife Sophie, 30, said Jamie was her ‘hero’ in a gushing tribute after she watched him cross the finish line.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday Sophie wrote: ‘My hero, that I now get to share with the world.
‘Your bravery, honesty, vulnerability and kindness are all things I see in you everyday but now everyone else gets to see that side of you too and I couldn’t be more proud.
‘Despite you telling me every day that you couldn’t do it, and despite every part of me wanting to tell you to stop, I knew you would complete it because once you put your mind to something you don’t give up, and you didn’t give up.
‘Well, in your own words you have just proven that ‘you are stronger than you think, you are braver than you are and you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it,’ I love you so much and am forever proud of you ‘.
