Celebrity Big Brother is facing backlash from fans after keeping JoJo Siwa’s gender idenтιтy admission in the edit as she admitted she ‘wasn’t ready to talk about it’.

During Tuesday night’s show, teary-eyed JoJo said she was struggling to come to terms with her gender idenтιтy and said she wasn’t ‘confident’ to talk about it.

The Dance Moms star, 21, came out as panSєxual in 2021 and has described herself as gay in recent interviews. She is currently dating Kath Ebbs, who is non binary. 

Fans were left pondering whether Big Brother accidentally forced JoJo to come out as non-binary, with some adding her admission should never had made the cut. 

Some wrote: ‘I get that they had to ask the question, but then they didn’t have to air what JoJo was talking about. Seems a bit cruel, especially when she said she’s not ready’,

‘they should have edited that conversation with jojo out, it seemed pretty clear she didn’t want that out there yet and she deserves to keep that until she’s ready #CBB’,

‘only me who thinks this is totally out of order for CBB to air? JoJo is obviously upset and uncomfortable to the point of saying “it’s not something i want to say about myself yet” but it’s been broadcast on national television??? ITV so easily could’ve cut from the edit’.

JoJo’s tearful admission comes after she and Chris Hughes’ were caught exchanging private messages while their housemates were sleeping – leading to a rule break.

JoJo broke down in tears as Big Brother continue to question her on her feelings surrounding her idenтιтy. 

Admitting she doesn’t feel like a boy or a girl, JoJo said she resonates the most with her non-binary friends – and said she is ‘confused’ at whether she identifies as non-binary or not.

She said: ‘It’s something that I’m not ready necessarily to be open about or upfront about but it has to do with gender and how do I feel.

‘Let’s put it this way. Oh my God, this is a lot. 

‘Essentially, you have female, you have male. I’ve met a lot of females and love them but don’t feel like I’m them. Met a lot of males, love them but definitely not them. 

‘I’ve met a lot of people in my life that are non-binary and these beautiful non-binary people are who I feel the most like.

Big Brother praised the reality star: ‘JoJo, thank you for being so honest and sharing with Big Brother.’

JoJo replied: ‘Of course. It’s important to be honest and I think it’s important to show that it’s ok to not know.’

Just hours before entering the iconic house, JoJo clarified her Sєxuality and gushed over her partner Kath. 

During an appearance on Paul C Brunson’s podcast, We Need To Talk, he said: ‘Let’s start about Sєxuality and idenтιтy, that journey.’

She responded: ‘One I’m still on for sure. I never thought twice about anything.’ 

Going on to explain her journey in more detail, JoJo shared: ‘I remember having a best friend, and I was 16, and we met on a cruise ship. I asked her, “So when did you know you were gay?” And she was 15 at the time. And she said, “Oh, I’m not. I have a boyfriend.” And I was like, “Dude, no way.”

‘And she showed me a picture of her boyfriend, and she was the first girl that I ever met and I was like, “lesbian.” Never met any girl like that, but I knew she was. Anyways, we became best friends.

‘Six months later, she comes to me, and she’s like, “Hey, I think I have to tell you something.” It was June, so it was Pride Month. ‘

‘She says, “I think you were right.” And I was like, “that you’re gay?” She was like, ‘Yeah, I think I might mostly like girls.’ And I was like, “Yeah, I know.” Which is exactly what you’re not supposed to do to somebody. You’re not supposed to put that pressure and not supposed to ᴀssume anything. But I fully did.  

‘And two months later, she became my first girlfriend.’

JoJo went on to explain: ‘At this point I’m straight and she asked me “do you have a crush on anybody right now, will you tell me who it is” and I said “no” and we played this game the whole week, she’d keep asking me.

‘And she said “will you just tell me if it’s a boy or a girl” and she was the first person that I said “I have a crush on a girl”. And she said “I knew it, I knew you were gay too, that’s why you cared so much about me being gay.”

‘My mum said, “Do you like her as a friend or as more than a friend” and I can’t lie to save my life so I said “More than a friend”, and my mum was like “I figured.”‘

Speaking about coming out publicly in 2021, she revealed: ‘Elton John called me, got my phone number and called me… He just wanted to say how proud he was of me and congratulations.

‘I thought it was all positive… and then I scrolled, and I was like, holy s***. And my thought wasn’t whoa, people are being so mean to me. it was whoa, people are really homophobic, still.’

Gushing over her current partner Kath, she added: ‘I have the most amazing, beautiful partner, they are incredible human being who I don’t know how I snagged them at all.’

‘With Kath, I just trust them beyond trust.’

She added her dream is to, ‘have babies, I just want to be a mom… I’ve had a very maternal instinct for a very long time since I was 12.’
