Jurᴀssic Park star Sam Neill, 77, is caught going on a heated rant about something everyone can relate to

Sam Neill went on a rant about grocery store etiquette in his latest social media post.

On Sunday, the Jurᴀssic Park star, 77, posted a video on Instagram, in which he expressed outrage at having to check out his own groceries.

He slammed the system and explained that an increase in self-checkout means less jobs for people in the same stores.

‘Call me old fashioned,’ he began by holding his hand to his ear in his self-recorded rant. ‘Thank you. But I refuse to check out my own groceries at a supermarket.’

He continued: ‘I want a human being to ᴀssist me. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.’

The actor and filmmaker — who recently revealed he is in remission after his two-year battle with stage-three blood cancer — shared his concern over robots replacing humans.

‘And every time I check out something for myself — you got to think like this — I’m doing someone out of a job,’ he said.

‘And if robots and self-serving is going to do all the work everywhere, who’s going to be buying the groceries at the checkout? It’s an old-fashioned question, but it’s a legitimate one, I think.’

He finished off the video with a cheeky grin and whispered, once again, ‘Old fashioned.’

Reiterating the same point, he wrote In his caption: ‘CALL ME OLD FASHIONED!’

His post received over 21,000 likes and many fans in the comments section sharing their thoughts on the topic.

Lots of his 747,000 followers said that they ‘totally agree’ and ‘feel the same’ about how grocery shopping has changed in many countries.

Some of his fans said they miss the ‘human interaction’ aspect of having an grocery store clerk rather than a robot to help them check out and bag their purchases.

Many of the comments also came from Instagram users who also called themselves old fashioned like Neill.

Another person said it is more ‘lovely’ to have someone to talk to while checking out.

‘How lovely it is to have someone say hello, thanks and have a nice day when one is at the store,’ the Instagram user commented.

‘Agree 100% and would like to add we need more human interactions to regain some of the empathy, kindness, compᴀssion and politeness that seem to be evaporating the last few years,’ one person wrote.

Another fan said they agreed with his thoughts about self-checkouts and shared their grievances over other technological advances over the years.

‘You go, Sam!! It’s like how I still prefer physical menus than the QR code bulls***,’ the comment read.

‘I hate waiting in line with people who have full baskets while I have a couple of items, so I appreciate it then!’

The comment continued: As long as the self-checkout is limited to a few items, it’s ok by me.

‘You know, I just thought, there is always a human working at the self-checkout in the stores here so it’s about the same as having a person at an express lane,’ the fan added.
