Steps star Claire Richards rakes in a jaw-dropping amount from Vinted side hustle as she flogs designer clothes and Jellycats

Claire Richards has reportedly made a jaw-dropping £10,000 from her Vinted side hustle.

The singer, 47, already has a hugely successful career under her belt as Steps’ lead vocalist.

However, Claire has found another way to rake in the cash as she’s successfully been flogging her designer clothes on the second-hand resale site.

According to her profile, the Tragedy hitmaker – who goes by the username princessclarabella – has sold almost 600 items since joining Vinted in April 2023.

And she’s certainly proved to be a great seller as she’s bagged five-star reviews and has accumulated 4219 followers.

Thanks to her success of selling everything from clothes to shoes, to kitchenware and Jellycats, The Sun reports that she’s collectively made £10k in total sales.

Her bio on the website reads: ‘I am a 47-year-old mother-of-two and I sing for my supper. I love clothes but never seem to throw any of them away when I should. So, it’s time to make space x.’

Taking to Facebook in April 2023, Claire previously expressed her excitement at having signed up to the online marketplace.

She gushed at the time: ‘I’ve got myself on VINTED!! It’s AMAZING! I’m OBSESSED Lots of lovely pieces added Today. Women’s and kids.’

Claire’s page has no doubt proved popular with fans as Claire has been selling plenty of designer gear including pieces she’s worn on stage as well as costumes from Steps’ music videos.

Her most recent upload is a grey two-piece ensemble consisting of a House of CB blazer-style body and custom made skirt which she wore in a 2021 video.

Explaining the ensemble, she penned: ‘This was adjusted for part of my costume in the Heartbreak in This City video with Michelle Visage. Collectible.

‘There are a few snips and raw edges to make it work for the outfit. The skirt is pvc and lace up.’

While another item is a gold midi dress classed as ‘Steps memorabilia’, which Claire notes that she wore on the Light Up The World Christmas tour in 2012.

Back in June last year, Claire slammed record companies for the gruelling way the band was treated during their 90s heyday.

The singer was a member of the hugely successful group alongside Lee Latchford-Evanst, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer, and Ian ‘H’ Watkins, and topped the charts between 1997 and 2002, before reuniting 2011.

Speaking on the Table Manners podcast Claire explained that at the height of their fame the band, who have been represented by half a dozen labels throughout their career, would only have two weeks off a year, saying it was ‘work work work’.

‘There was no respite from it at all, I think the most time we ever got off was maybe two weeks of and that would have been it’.

Hitting out at the lack of consideration for the group’s well being she said: ‘The rest of the time someone’s sitting in an office in a record company doing the schedule, and not thinking about the human beings at the other end of it.

She also revealed there how the workload as well as ‘frictions’ behind the scenes with her bandmates led to the group’s initial split.

‘I think ultimately, it’s probably just burnout, you know, there were frictions and there were just kind of things that I suppose happened that became mᴀssive because we were so compressed all the time’.

The band reunited in 2011 and have since released four albums as well as five tours with one to celebrate their 25-year anniversary.

Discussing their backstage boozy antics she said: ‘Well, it’s mostly wine. There’s normally, it’s two bottles of prosecco, a couple of bottles of rose and white, we don’t have any red, and then it used to be a bottle of gin and some tonics for ‘H’ but now he has tequila.’
