The 1% Club fans gasped ‘surely not!’ as players were wiped out by the ‘easiest ever’ question on the ITV show. 

Saturday night’s instalment of the ITV quiz show, hosted by Lee Mack, saw 100 contestants attempt to win a huge cash prize.

The programme’s questions were put to the public, with the percentage who got it right determining the difficulty of each round.

Aptly, the final quiz is one that just 1 per cent of the public answered correctly, however on the recent episode the 30% question tripped up some contestants.

Lee read: ‘What two well-known eight-letter words are made when the following are correctly paired up?’

The words, ‘book’, ‘mill’, ‘wind’, and ‘note’ were then listed.

After three contestants were knocked out upon answering incorrectly, Bradley then revealed the answer was, ‘notebook and windmill’.

Some viewers were surprised by the question and took to social media to share their thoughts.

One posted on X: ‘I am confused at why this incredibly simple question is the 30% question?’

‘Very easy for 30% I’ve got them all right up to now. Seems to get easier every week.’ 

‘You’re telling me 70% of the people that took this survey got this wrong?’ 

‘I don’t understand how windmill/notebook can be a 30% question – it’s too easy even for a 90% question.’

‘That was something like a 90% question. It seemed out of place because it was so easy.’

‘I thought I had it wrong because it was too easy.’ 

Some viewers were surprised by the question and took to social media to share their thoughts

Others found the questions overall ‘easy’ and one said: ‘Is anyone else finding these questions super easy tonight on the 1% club.’ 

‘ᴅᴇᴀᴅ easy so far this week , getting the answers almost straight away.’ 

It comes after a question on a previous episode of The 1% Club drove a finalist to walk away from a whopping £94,000 jackpot.
