Finn Wolfhard, 22, reveals why he still lives with parents after Stranger Things success

Finn Wolfhard, 22, reveals why he still lives with parents after Stranger Things success

Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard might be a multi-millionaire who’s found fame on the stage and screen, but he still lives with his mother Mary Jolivet and father Eric Wolfhard in Vancouver.

‘I lived alone for a few years, I guess two years, and then I moved back in with my family for a year,’ the 22-year-old former child star explained to People on Sunday.

‘And then, last year, I was living alone in Atlanta for the year while shooting Stranger Things, but I have since moved back in with my family.’

It’s unclear precisely how much Finn has earned in his career, but it was well over $9.5M by year 2020 – according to IMDb.

‘We have a place in Vancouver. We all have our separate space, but we still live together, and it’s great,’ Wolfhard defended.

‘I rarely get to see my family. I think it’s a nice home base to have, just because, if I’m going to be away for most of the year working, then I might as well have a place [to come back to] with my parents.’

In 2020, the SAG Award winner posted the only snap of his family (with their eyes blacked out) attending his Saint Patrick Regional Secondary School graduation, writing: ‘Thanks to these people who kidnapped me at birth and raised me.’

Finn and co-director Billy Bryk’s long-delayed, dismally-reviewed slasher Hell of a Summer has nearly broken even at the box office with $2.9M gross after a $3M budget.

Wolfhard will next portray Petro in Isaiah Saxon’s $10M-budget fantasy flick The Legend of Ochi – hitting US/UK theaters April 25 – alongside Willem Dafoe and Emily Watson.

The Trailers After Dark singer – who gets 133K monthly listeners on Spotify – is scheduled to kick off his seven-date The Objection! Tour on June 5 at the Lodge Room in LA.

On December 20, Finn wrapped his breakout role as D&D enthusiast Mike Wheeler in the Duffer Brothers’ 1987-set eight-episode fifth (and final) season of Stranger Things, which premieres later this year on Netflix.

‘I was so happy with his ending, and I don’t know, I was satisfied, but I was also very confused and sad, but also very happy,’ Wolfhard told People.

‘I felt like I was in a dream or something. None of it felt real. I don’t know, it felt perfect.’

As for the Saturday Night actor’s only regret? ‘Maybe I would go back to when the show first came out and blew up, and I would directly put myself into therapy.’

Finn – who boasts 22M social media followers – noted: ‘But it was so crazy and overnight, that there was not really any time to think about that.’
