With the likes of Little Mix, Girls Aloud and The Saturdays disbanding in recent years, the British music scene has been crying out for a new girlband.
Now that hole is set to be filled thanks to Sweet Love – a fresh new musical force who have burst onto the scene with their debut single, Bad Guy.
Formed of Maya, 22, Jasmine, 21, and 19-year-olds Honey and Venice, the quartet have become a Gen Z icon in recent months with their viral covers of hit songs.
Harnessing the power of social media, the girls have managed to bring in more than 1.3 million TikTok followers with their singing videos and dance routines.
Managed by Blair Dreelan – of East 17 fame – the girls soon caught the eye of MMA fighter Conor McGregor, who last year launched a surprise foray into the music world with his Irish record label Greenback Records, and was quick to sign them up.
And after they swung by The Mail’s offices for a chat about their new single, it’s clear to see why the group made an impression.

I was instantly drawn in by their warmth and bubbly personalities – despite it being the girls’ first interview with an international media outlet – there was no sign of nerves.
In fact, the excitement that radiated from them all made a refreshing change.
The key to their confidence they believe is their chemistry, crediting the fact they were formed ‘organically’ rather than manufactured on a reality show.
Jasmine was the first one to join the band, having been approached by family friend and now manager Blair.
A member of prestigious musical arts school Silvia Young, Jasmine suggested some of her talented classmates also try out the band, with Honey and Venice landing the spots.
Blair then set his sights on Maya – a former model – who despite having previously been too scared to sing in public was convinced to try out for the brand and revealed she’d been hiding an incredible singing voice.
Speaking about their formation, Jasmine explained: ‘Forming the organic way was the best way because we all get on really well.
‘In other environments when people get put together they might not get on and then you get the clashing and then people break up and the bands don’t last.
‘But I think we’re like sisters, which is really lovely, so I couldn’t pick any better bandmates.’

While the girls all credit is as it being their highlight, for Maya the moment was made all the more special given it was her first experience singing in public.
‘It was insane! Not performing in public to performing in stadiums. And to get to do that with all the girls, there are literally no words for it.’
This year has seen another highlight for the group, having been signed to MMA star Conor’s label in February.
He’s proved to be more than confident about the partnership, having branded the girls ‘the biggest girl band since the Spice Girls’.
The girls revealed they’re keen to live up to the challenge.
‘It feels incredible to hear’: Jasmine explained. ‘When I was younger I used to love Spice Girls, Girls Aloud, like all of the girl bands that were around.
‘But Spice Girls is such a huge name to live up to and I feel like we could fill their boots!’

Speaking about their experience working with Conor, Jasmine went on: ‘He’s been amazing with us. We met his whole family, his wife, his kids, they’re like incredible.’
For now, the girls have been focused on promoting their debut single Bad Girls, which was released on Friday.
Speaking about the record, Venice shared: ‘We love the song, it’s really exciting.
‘We’ve worked really hard on it for the past two years, trying to make music, and it’s the first time the world can hear our kind of music rather than us just doing covers.
‘So I’m just really excited for everybody to get a taste of Sweet Love!’
Explaining the inspiration behind the single, Maya mused: ‘It’s when you’ve tried being with like the nice guys and the funny guys but it doesn’t really work out with them and you don’t really know why.
‘So you just want to try something a bit different and so you give the bad guys a taste!’
Honey added: ‘We wanted to make those songs that you want to shout and scream along to her in your car!’

While they have just released their new single, the band show no sign of slowing down, revealing they are hoping to keep up the momentum with a flurry of ‘girl power’ anthems.
Speaking about their goals, the group explained: ‘We’ve been working so hard to create the perfect sound—something that’s bold, fun, and totally us.
‘Sweet Love is all about empowering women, and having the best time.
‘We want to build the ultimate Girl Gang with our fans; the Sweethearts, and we can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on!’
