A famous Coronation Street star has bagged himself a new role on a rival soap, seven years after saying goodbye to the cobbles.
Connor McIntyre played one of Weatherfield’s most memorable villains Pat Phelan in the ITV show from 2013 to 2014, returning in 2016 before being killed off in June 2018.
And now the 64-year-old is making his return to world of soaps to star in an upcoming episode of medical drama Casualty this month.
According to The Sun he will play character Kenny Sanders and will appear in Saturday’s episode on BBC One.
The synopsis for the episode reads: ‘Stevie walks into danger as the idenтιтy of her stalker is revealed, Ngozi is on edge when her secret is exposed, and Flynn finds a solution to the department’s money problems.’
Connor sH๏τ fame in the role of legendary serial killer Pat, who wreaked havoc on Weatherfield with his many crimes, including kidnapping Andy Carver and Vinny Ashford, blackmailing Anna Windᴀss to sleep with him and murdering Andy, Luke Britton and Michael Rodwell.

He was eventually served with a taste of his own medicine in 2018, when Anna, played by Debbie Rush, stabbed him to death following years of abuse.
A former boxer, lifeguard and car salesman, Connor became an actor in his 30s after being inspired by watching a rehearsal at Plymouth’s Barbican Theatre.
He got his big break in The Bill in 1994 and went on to star in various TV dramas including Always And Everyone and Murder City, until a heart attack made him reᴀssess his life.
He went on to pursue his pᴀssion for art, going onto get a First Class Masters degree in Fine Art, and revealed he enjoys spending time creating abstract paintings.
Speaking to the Mail’s Weekend magazine back in 2016, Connor recalled: ‘Having a heart attack was a huge shock. But I’ve had no recurring problems.
‘It changed my thinking and focused my mind on doing things I really wanted to, like art. I went to a painting class and got a real buzz from it.’
He called Pat ‘a dream to play’, explaining: ‘His vanity and lack of compᴀssion and empathy are unrelenting. What he’ll do for power is incredible.’

The actor has a longtime fondness for Corrie, stretching back all the way to his childhood, long before he landed a role on the soap.
Connor revealed: ‘The first ever Corrie episode went out in 1960 seven days after I was born, so it’s fair to say I grew up with the show. I love being at work – whether that’s painting or on Coronation Street.’
It comes after it was revealed this week that Corrie and rival ITV soap Emmerdale have been pulling in record viewers after making one recent change to compliment their recent hard-hitting storylines.
The change took place in October, when the long-running shows became available to view on ITVX from 7am on their day of broadcast.
This meant that soap fans could either chose to tune in early or watch their favourite soaps at a time that better suits them.
The decision to make the change came after BBC soap EastEnders made a similar switch to iPlayer a few years ago.
Following the change, both Corrie and Emmerdale have enjoyed a record 124 million streams in 2025’s first quarter.
This meant that there have been an impressive one billion streams on ITVX so far this year.

To put the change into context, compared to this time last year, soap viewing has increased by 35 per cent.
However, there is no doubt that brilliant storylines have also influenced the increased number of people tuning into some of Britain’s best-loved soaps.
Recent notable storylines include Emmerdale’s limo crash, which saw three major characters brutally killed off – Suzy, Leyla and Amy.
ITV’s Managing Director of Media and Entertainment Kevin Lygo said: ‘We have totally transformed our streaming offer with ITVX over the past couple of years.
‘All our teams internally, alongside the best producers in the business, have helped deliver these brilliant numbers, by producing, promoting and delivering this fantastic content to audiences to stream.’
