Leigh-Anne came under fire in 2019 for adopting dogs with cut ears, a procedure banned in the United Kingdom.
The pair are among a host of stars to show off dogs who have been cropped, an ancient procedure that involves shaping the ear into an erect point, with millions of fans on social media platforms such as Instagram.
Ear cropping, which dates back thousands of years, was originally performed on working dogs to prevent risk of ear infection and other potential health risks, but has also been adopted by owners who breed the animal specifically for hunting and dog-fighting.
It is currently banned in all countries that consent to the European Convention for the Protection of Pet Animals, but breeders are able to navigate this by importing pre-cropped dogs from countries that green light the procedure.
The aesthetic appearance of cropped dogs has proved popular with stars including Leigh-Anne, footballer Andy Carroll and his ex-wife – former TOWIE star Billi Mucklow.
Taking to Instagram that year, Leigh-Anne was slammed by fans after sharing a snap of herself and cropped dog Kyro.

Lambasting the star, an unimpressed fan wrote: ‘I hope to god you rescued this dog and his ears had already been cropped.
‘If you had done or bought from a breeder who did you are supporting a cruel practice. It is illegal in the UK for a reason. This is shocking.’
While a second added: ‘Why you cut the ears pls dont do that.’
The singer’s boyfriend, Watford footballer Andre, later defended her by insisting that neither of them supported the operation, with Kyro bought as a surprise for Leigh-Anne.
Other stars to come under fire for showing off cropped dogs include former Chelsea captain John Terry and Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford.
