Benidorm legend Sherrie Hewson has shared her epic five-word response as ITV bosses ‘hold talks’ to reboot the beloved comedy – and fans will be thrilled.
Earlier this week it was revealed that the beloved comedy could be returning to our screens eight years after it was axed.
And Sherrie, 74 – who played Joyce Temple-Savage in the sitcom between 2012 and 2018, has lifted the lid on if the rumours are true.
Speaking on Best magazine’s Suddenly Single podcast, Sherrie said: ‘There is this thing that it’s coming back though, and I keep that alive.’
She excitedly quipped: ‘It is now a possibility.
‘That would be wonderful because we all miss it desperately.’

Benidorm hit our screens in 2007 and went on to air 74 episodes over 10 series.
Then in 2018 it was confirmed that the long-running sitcom would end after 11 years on our screens.
Since the show was given the axe, many fans have been desperate for the programme to return, so no doubt the rumours are welcome news.
A TV insider told The Sun: ‘Benidorm was adored by millions when it was suddenly cancelled.
‘Fans will be thrilled to hear ITV wants to bring it back.
‘An 11th series hasn’t been commissioned yet, but there’s major excitement building as early talks begin.
‘Producers have started to reach out to the show’s stars and are hopeful a decision can be made later this year.’
The show’s synopsis reads: ‘British comedy series following holidaymakers at the Solana Resort in Benidorm.

Benidorm has had some very famous faces as part of the cast.
The likes of Jake Canuso, Janine Duvitski, Steve Pemberton, Sheila Reid, Kenny Ireland, Tony Maudsley, Johnny Vegas and Tim Healy have appeared in the show.
Crissy Rock, Hannah Waddingham, Danny Walters, Sheridan Smith, Nigel Havers and Julie Graham have also appeared in it.
The show was created by Derren Litten.
Back in 2023 he teased a return of the beloved series as he announced that he was returning back to writing for ‘both television and theatre’.
He said: ‘I have had clear, recent indications that certain TV channels are interested in my decision and I hope you will be watching the fruits of my labour in time to come.’
Then, last month he sparked hope of its comeback once again when a fan asked on X: ‘@DerrenLitten @ITV Another series of Benidorm on the cards?’
He cryptically replied: ‘Who knows…’
Announcing the news on social media that it had been axed in 2018, Derren said: ‘Crazy to think Wednesday will be the last episode of Benidorm!
‘I created the series over 11 years ago, wrote it, guest starred in it and ended up directing it.
‘It’s difficult to think what else there is to do! Thank you for watching!’
