Former Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe was seething at her ex-boyfriend Jason Tartick after he allegedly stole her dream baby name.

Even worse, she claimed he gave the special name to one of his dogs.

On the most recent episode of her podcast Off The Vine, Kaitlyn told her fans that she had wanted for years to name her first child Teddy, but she has now given up on the name for good after her ex allegedly repurposed it for his furry friend.

‘I think it’s mean and pathetic to name your dog —’ she said before a sharp pause, before musing, ‘Am I going there?’  

‘I’m making this clear — it’s not that I’m not over him,’ she noted defensively. ‘I’m very much over him. I ended the relationship, I did not want to be in that. It felt icky to me.’

‘I did not want to be in it, but to get a dog and name that dog my dream baby name that I’ve had in my baby names for 10 years…’ Kaitlyn — who recently revealed one of her own dogs recently injured her — trailed off.

‘I even have a text that says to him — I said, the day I met him, “I want to name my baby Teddy,”‘ she claimed.

Kaitlyn sounded increasingly worked up by the revelation, and she clarified again that it wasn’t any lingering feelings for her ex-fiancé that made her mad.

Instead, she was furious at the prospect of being disrespected by her ex.

‘I just have so many gross feelings from that, because for so long I was made to feel crazy, and now I’m like, “Oh, I’m not crazy. I just saw what other people are seeing now,”‘ she continued.

Kaitlyn then reiterated that her relationship with Jason could never have worked out long term, but she felt ‘disappointed’ by the tense aftermath.

‘What I want out of life is not what he wants, and that is what two people shouldn’t be together like that,’ the former Bachelor contestant continued. ‘So I’m not fully angry. I’m just really grossed out and disappointed.’

Jason gave his 977,000 Instagram followers a preview of the drama with his ex when he revealed in early March that he had got a new dog, a stunningly cute (and pH๏τogenic) Golden Retriever. 

‘My new best buddy needs a name!’ he captioned adorable pH๏τos of the pooch. ‘I have a few favorites for him, but before I decide, I’d love to hear your ideas.’

But Kaitlyn claimed on her podcast Off The Vine that Jason eventually named the dog Teddy, which she claimed to have a text from the day she met her ex in which she told him she dreamed of naming her first child Teddy

She said she was primarily ‘grossed out and disappointed’ about being ‘disrespected’ by her ex

The couple got engaged in May 2021, only to break up a little over two years later in August 2023

He noted that the rescue he adopted the dog from had named him Rango, which he ‘like[d],’ but he was still considering a different option.

A few days later he revealed that he had chosen Kaitlyn’s special name, Teddy, for the dog.

Kaitlyn concluded by declaring her digression about Justin’s baby-name betrayal would likely be ‘the last time’ she would publicly speak about him, because it ‘felt really good’ when she took a break from relitigating their relationship.

Earlier in the podcast, she also took Jason to task of his claims that he was no longer allowed to see the two Golden Retrievers that they had shared during their relationship.

Kaitlyn admitted that she eventually decided that it was too destabilizing for the dogs to go back and forth between homes, but she claimed she still allowed her ex to spend time with the dogs, an offer he allegedly didn’t take her up on.

Kaitlyn and Jason began their relationship back in 2019, after meeting a few months earlier in 2018. 

The couple got engaged in May of 2021, but they announced in August of 2023 that they had ended their engagement and spit up. 

Prior to the relationship, she had been engaged to Bachelorette contestant Shawn Booth after giving him the final rose on season 11 of the reality compeтιтion in 2015. However, the two broke up in November 2018, just a month after she met Jason.
