An iconic 80s singer looked unrecognisable as they made a rare chat show appearance on Saturday Night With Hayley Palmer last week. 

Swapping his microphone for a hairbrush he mimed to his number one hit from 1983, Too Shy, from his brief time as frontman of Kajagoogoo, before being sacked amid a feud. 

The British singer, now 66, and his unique hairstyle soon went solo and sung the smash hit theme to 1984 film The Never Ending Story.

The legend has continued performing and also dipped his toe into the world of reality TV, competing on celebrity talent show Hit Me, Baby, One More Time and VH1’s Bands Reunited.

The singer also appeared as a I’m A Celeb campmate in 2012, however after arriving as a late entry alongside chef Rosemary Shrager, 74, he became the second star to be booted from camp.

Of course it’s Limahl who appeared on the show to chat about his long career in the music industry. 

Gone were his bleached blonde spikes for a more subdued quiff and he looked dapper in a waistcoat and shirt. 

He and host Hayley appeared in great spirits as they playful mimed to the hit into hairbrushes during a break in the interview. 

Speaking about his axe from the band Liaml, who’s real name is Christopher Hamill, previously old Birmingham Mail: ‘Basically it was a personality clash between me and Kajagoogoo’s manager. In the end we just couldn’t get on, although I really tried hard.’

‘After their decision I just received a phone call saying I was out of Kajagoogoo. For a few moments I thought the world had stopped. I was just so stunned and shocked.

‘I’d given my life and my soul to Kajagoogoo and then after a cheap phone call, it was all over. I did cry and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Anybody is enтιтled to break down under those circumstances.’

It comes after fellow 80s star and sacked singer Lorraine Lewis from rock band Femme Fatale and Vixen, opened an OnlyFans account at the age 66.

Discussing the controversial decision on The Chuck Shute Podcast, the blonde bombshell said that the response had been ‘amazing’.

‘I have wanted to join OnlyFans for a very, very long time,’ she said in the interview, which was transcribed by Blabbermouth.

‘I just think it’s a cool platform. It can be whatever you want it to be. I think a lot of people think it’s really just porn. It’s not. It doesn’t have to be. But it’s Sєxy, I’ll tell you that. Like, I’m hella Sєxy.’

Since launching the page, Lewis said that she’s picked up about 500 subscribers, who are all paying $20 a month for her exclusive content.

Now that she’s earning over $10,000 a month, Lewis has no plans to slow down.

‘It’s been amazing,’ she gushed. ‘It just makes sense that a girl like me, a rock star like me, would take this to the next level.’

She continued, ‘I’ve always been a rebel. I’m always full of surprises. And this is just another level of, like, doing what I wanna do and living life to the fullest.

‘If I’m lucky, I’ve got 30 more years on the planet. I can talk about this when I’m sipping tea when I’m 100.’

Lewis brushed off any criticism she’s received over the bold move, calling her OnlyFans era ‘just another phase of my life’.

‘I’m owning it. I’m embracing it. I’m in control of whatever I wanna do, and I’m just having so much fun.’

With decades in the music industry under her belt, it’s no surprise that most of the singer’s subscribers are longtime fans of her music.

‘I have so many fans that have come on and they’re, like, “I’ve had a crush on you since I was 15 years old and first saw your video”,’ she said.

‘I mean, it’s a chance for people to have a one-on-one with me, get to know me on a more intimate one-on-one level, have fun with it.’

Lewis said that she was ‘proud’ of herself for taking the plunge into OnlyFans, and has even hired a publicist to promote the racy venture.
