Celebrity Great British Bake Off fans were left appalled by the ‘most disgusting and repulsive thing they’ve seen for years’ – but could you stomach the ‘nightmare fuel’ creation?
Sunday’s instalment of the Stand Up to Cancer special on Channel 4 saw well-known faces enter the tent and bake their best creations.
Comedians Adam Buxton and Meera, actor Tommy Tiernan and singer Self Esteem (Rebecca Lucy Taylor) took part in the latest episode.
The Channel 4 cooking show sees hosts Alison Hammond, 50, and Noel Fielding welcome four new stars for the Stand Up To Cancer special, with efforts being judged by Paul Hollywood, 59, and new judge Caroline Waldegrave, 72.
During the Showstopper round, Adam attempted to make a pie based on a scene from Alien, directed by Ridley Scott.
In what was supposed to be an alien bursting out of a human’s stomach, the pie featured a banana sticking out of the centre which caught the attention of the judges and viewers.

‘You’re looking at a cherry pie, shortcrust pastry. Originally, the alien was going to look a little bit more like an alien, from the film Alien, but then all the pastry fell off in the oven,’ Adam explained.
Bake Off icon Paul Hollywood laughed and said: ‘I’ve never seen anything quite like that. It’s certainly been baked well. I’m just going to move the old chap across.’
Though the judges praised his ‘good effort’ many viewers took to social media to share their own reaction.
One posted on X: ‘Adam’s alien creation is probably the most repulsive and disgusting creation I’ve seen on #GBBO for some time. #SU2C.’
Another said: ‘That image is nightmare fuel.’
While someone else penned: ‘Paul & Caroline tasting alien pie. They sure do earn their wages on that show!’
During the challenge, Meera made a pie inspired by Frida Kahlo, Tommy baked a Bob Dylan pecan pie, while Rebecca created a sweet tweet representing George Michael.
Meera particularly impressed with her Showstopper and Paul branded it ‘unbelievable’ as he tried the delicious pie and later the judges awarded her Star Baker as she said she felt ‘speechless’.
This year’s Great Celebrity Bake Off will be a notable one, as it is the first season not judged by Prue.

Instead, celebrity chef Paul will be joined by her close friend Caroline, a former co-owner and managing director of Leiths School of Food & Wine.
Prue’s decision to step away temporarily from the celebrity edition of the show was confirmed early last year.

However, when rumours circulated that she might be quitting the show, Prue was quick to clarify the confusion during an appearance on This Morning.
She told This Morning hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley: ‘It’s absolutely not true at all! [that she’s quit the show]. What I’m not doing this year is the celebrity one.’
‘These things are filmed back-to-back all the way through summer from April to August so you don’t get any time off. I’m getting quite old and there’s places I want to see. So I’m not doing this year’s.’
Prue later told MailOnline about the decision: ‘I absolutely love working on Bake Off and am looking forward to filming the next series and meeting our new bakers.’
It comes after last week Kate Garraway was crowned Star Baker after earning a coveted handshake from Paul Hollywood.
The beloved presenter, 57, was left speechless after host Noel announced the joyful news after the gruelling baking compeтιтion.
Almost in disbelief, the Good Morning Britain host mumbled: ‘What?’, as Noel, 51, gave her the Star Baker apron.
Bake Off icon Paul Hollywood laughed and said: ‘I’ve never seen anything quite like that. It’s certainly been baked well. I’m just going to move the old chap across.’

‘I can’t believe it! It’s the best day of my life,’ Kate said thrilled, struggling to contain her excitement on screen.
But that wasn’t the only reason to giggle on the show, as the broadcaster was left stunned when Paul Hollywood awarded her the coveted handshake for her first bake.
Kate gasped: ‘Oh my God, I got a handshake!’ before joking: ‘It felt like love – I think there was a moment where he had to unpeel my fingers.’
However her success was short lived when the technical challenge proved a nightmare for her.
