Worst House On The Street fans raged ‘this couple are a joke’ as they revealed their £200,000 budget for a six-bedroom house.
Newly married couple Ben and Milly appeared on the recent episode of the Channel 4 show hosted by sibling property developers Scarlette and Stuart Douglas.
They had purchased a house with big plans to renovate and transform it into a six-bedroom abode.
With a budget of £200,000, the pair hoped to build a huge extension, ‘resulting in a property that engulfs the existing one’ Stuart explained on the show.
‘Ben and Milly’s ambitious plans could easily cost double their £200,000 budget, so where possible, they should work with the layout they’ve got,’ Scarlette warned.
The couple hoped to have made decent progress to be able to celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary at the property, which was soon approaching, and they had a baby on the way.

In the end, the renovation was completed two years after they first applied for planning permission and they spent a total of £350,000 on the property, which they bought for £342,000.
The finished product was valued to be worth £850,000 meaning Ben and Milly would see a hearty profit if they ever sold.
However, some viewers were surprised by the couple’s plans and one even branded their expectations as ‘obscene’.
One posted on X: ‘A 6 bed 6 bath house?! Why?! That’s so ridiculously unnecessary, this couple are a joke, they seem to have no idea how much anything costs.’
Another comment online read: ‘I really don’t understand why anyone needs a kitchen and diner that size, it’s obscene and just pointless. These two just want to show off like their mega rich when they clearly aren’t.’
Someone else wrote: ‘Just watched a 23 year old and 27 year old buy a house for £342,000 and spend another £350,000 renovating it. Where do they get the money from? And yes, I’m jealous.’
A fourth penned: ‘You could save 20% just by removing 1 of the, I don`t know, [six] bathrooms.’
While another said: ‘They want a Cheshire mansion.’

A previous episode that aired last year saw a horrified Channel 4 host gasp ‘I just want to leave’ and a couple break down in tears during a horror property makeover.
Scarlette and Stuart travelled to Nottingham to visit couple Luke and Shurel in their new-yet-dilapidated house.
First-time parents Luke and Shurel were hoping to transform their property in just three months as the lease on the property they were living in with their newborn son Koa would soon expire.
But this proved to be a tall order when their house was revealed to have gaping holes in the ground, as well as a lingering smell of damp.
Worst House On The Street airs on Channel 4 and is available to stream on 4OD.
