Angellica was born in Ealing, West London, with her family originally coming to the UK from St Lucia.
When she was a young child, she ended up living with her grandmother after her parents had split.
Angellica slept in a single bed in her grandmother’s room and the pair grew an unbreakable bond.
She previously told the Home Truths blog: ‘When my mum and dad split up, I moved in with my grandmother and I slept on a small single bed in her room. We were very close.’
Eventually, Angellica and her sister went to live with their mother in a small two-bedroom Housing ᴀssociation flat, with the youngster still seeing her grandmother everyday as she lived opposite her school.
Leaving home when she was older, the TV star then rented a room off an older woman (for minimal rent) who just wanted some company, with Angellica managing to save enough for her own home a few years later.
After being educated at Notting Hill & Ealing High School, Angellica went on to study Politics at the University of the West of England.
During her younger years, Angellica had a paper round and even worked in McDonalds before landing her first TV job as a roving reporter for the Big Breakfast on Channel 4 in the late 1990s.

Her big break came when she started working for CBBC in 2002, hosting in between shows before landing main presenting stints on shows including Xchange, 50/50 and That’s Genius!
Since then, her career has taken off, with Angellica making TV appearances on shows including The One Show, Sport Relief and Celebrity MasterChef – which she won in 2017 [pictured]

However, her big break came when she started working for CBBC in 2002, hosting in between shows before eventually landing main presenting stints on shows including Xchange, 50/50 and That’s Genius!
The star remained at the children’s channel until 2006, with the host moving onto adult-mainstream TV with a gig working on The Great British Village Show.
Since then, her career has taken off, with Angellica making TV appearances on shows including The One Show, Sport Relief, Born To Shine, The Zone and Celebrity MasterChef – which she won in 2017.
In an interview with The Times in May 2024, Angellica – who’s reportedly worth £1million – told how she doesn’t feel ‘wealthy’ despite carving out a great career from her humble beginnings.
She explained: ‘I don’t feel wealthy now. I still have to look at what I’ve got coming in each month. I’m in the middle of a renovation and trying to save to do the next part. I don’t take anything for granted — I look at ways to save, at whether there’s a cheaper option.
‘Maybe I need to ask someone who is really wealthy. Is it just when you know you can go into a shop and put your card out and think, I’ll have anything I want? I can’t do that. I don’t feel wealthy but I know I’m fortunate, and I have more than I ever thought I’d have.’
Back in 2023, the beauty hit the headlines after being axed from The Martin Lewis Money show after ITV producers claimed her appearance on Shop Smart, Save Money was a conflict of interest.
Angellica was unceremoniously let go from the ITV programme days before filming began and replaced by former Olympian Jeanette Kwakye.

The following year, the presenter quit Channel 5’s flagship show Shop Smart, Save Money [pictured with co-star Otis Deley] after just one series, despite signing a two-year deal
A source told The Sun at the time: ‘Everyone is stunned by the move – no one saw it coming. Angellica has been an integral part of the show since 2017 so for her to be bumped off air with no warning is crazy.
‘Staff have naturally been talking and find the whole thing really awkward and unfair, but Martin is trying to keep out of it as it wasn’t up to him.
‘Bosses say due to The Gadget Show’s rebranding as Shop Smart, Save Money it’s a clash of interest but in reality the decision had nothing to do with Angellica. Many staff feel at the very least bosses could have given her warning or an option as to which show she wanted to continue with.’
The change didn’t go down well with viewers, with many hitting out on X/Twitter complaining of Angellica’s dismissal.

Angellica currently co-presents Hits Radio while Fleur East is on maternity leave.

Meanwhile in her personal life, Angellica is married to fellow TV presenter Michael, 49, and the pair share a son and daughter together.
The couple, who met during their CBBC days, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in New York in 2010, with no guests present.
Their New York wedding was spontaneous as they were due to marry in Tuscany than Spring before changing their mind and heading to the Big Apple, where they’d got engaged the previous year.
Before Michael, Angellica was married to personal trainer Stuart Armory in 2007, but their marriage only lasted a year.
Anegllica, Michael and their children live five-bedroom Victorian semi in Kingston-Upon-Thames, South West London, which they’ve been extensively renovating.
