Scarlett Johansson couldn’t stop smiling as she stepped out to promote her action film Jurᴀssic World Rebirth at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

The actress, 40, who stars in the new sci-fi film as Zora Bennet, took to the stage alongside co-star Mahershala Ali and director Gareth Edwards to unveil the latest instalment in the film franchise.

Gushing about the new movie, Scarlett said that making the movie fulfilled a ‘lifelong dream’ of hers she has had since chilhood.

According to People, Scarlett said: ‘It has been a lifelong dream to be in a Jurᴀssic movie for the last 15 years.’

The movie takes place five years after the events of Jurᴀssic World Dominion and follows her character, Zora Bennett, on a top-secret mission to secure the genetic material from three of the world’s dinosaurs.

Back in February Scarlett gave a first look as Zora in the first trailer for Jurᴀssic World Rebirth.

The actress teams up with Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey) and Martin Krebs, a representative for the drug corporation financing the mission, played by Rupert Friend.

The preview begins with the two-time Oscar nominee meeting with Jonathan, who is a paleontologist, as she and Friend reveal their plans to embark on a secret mission that will result in a ‘medical breakthrough that could save countess lives.’

Rupert explains to Jonathan that the materials they need come from the largest dinosaurs on the planet.

‘Fortunately for us, all these species exist in one isolated place,’ he said. ‘Can you be ready tomorrow?’

While sensing Bailey’s hesitation, Scarlett tells him: ‘I can guarantee your safety… more or less.’

‘More or less?’ he fires back, before footage pans to them embarking on their dangerous voyage.

While speaking of her team, Scarlett confidently declares that they are the ‘best at moving things and people in and out of places they shouldn’t be.’

Upon joining the duo, Mahershala talks about avoiding government patrol, before noting that there isn’t much there anymore.

When Jonathan asks him why not, Mahershala laughs and says: ‘No one’s dumb enough to go where we’re going.’

‘This island was the research facility for the original Jurᴀssic Park,’ Scarlett explains.

It is later revealed that the dinosaurs left on this island were the ones deemed ‘too dangerous for the original park.’

Their mission takes them on an exhausting journey that includes rappelling down a mountain and facing off with dinosaurs, including raptors.

The new science fiction action film, which comes on the heels of Jurᴀssic World Dominion (2022), is the seventh film in the Jurᴀssic Park franchise and stars a whole new ensemble cast that’s being led by Scarlett.

Along with Scarlett, Rupert, Mahershala, and Jonathan, the cast includes Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein.

Per a press release, the premise of the story is: ‘Five years post-Jurᴀssic World Dominion, an expedition braves isolated equatorial regions to extract DNA from three mᴀssive prehistoric creatures for a groundbreaking medical breakthrough.’

As a covert operations expert, Johansson’s character is ‘contracted to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from the world’s three most mᴀssive dinosaurs,’ according to Universal Pictures.

‘When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinosaurs, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.’

Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is scheduled to hit theaters in the U.S. on July 2, 2025
