Sydney Sweeney secretly split with her fiancé Jonathan Davino as far back as January, it has been reported. 

It was reported last week that the Euphoria star, 27, and film producer, 41, called off their wedding amid ‘major issues’ that allegedly left their romance hanging in the balance.

Sydney and Jonathan started dating in 2018 and got engaged in 2022, but for the most part kept their relationship ᴀssiduously private.

However a source recently revealed to DailyMail.com that the pair had postponed their wedding, which was planned to take place this May.

The insider explained that the couple were undergoing a ‘rough patch’ and trying to ‘reᴀssess’ whether they ought to remain together at all. 

But a source has now told TMZ that the pair actually separated in January, and have been living separate lives for several months.

Jonathan and Sydney have not been seen together since January, and she has reportedly been staying at the Beverly Hills H๏τel since mid-February. 

Rumours had began swirling about the state of their relationship, and Sydney poured fuel on the fire last week when she deleted a picture of her and Jonathan kissing from an Instagram album she had posted to celebrate the new year.

Sydney then shocked fans as she reunited with her Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday, as they both celebrated the wedding of Glen’s sister Leslie Powell to Thomas Gillespie.

While Sydney and Glen, 36, were promoting their romantic comedy Anyone But You in 2023, they were hit with rumours they had an on-set affair – and deliberately played into the conjecture in order to drum up publicity for the movie. 

Fans have long speculated that there could be something romantic between them – and the actress’s split from her fiancé did little to help persuade otherwise.   

But in an exclusive phone call with the Daily Mail on Monday, Glen’s mother, Cyndy Powell, has revealed what’s really going on. 

‘They’re definitely not together. It was just, like, she was there [at the wedding] with her friend,’ she said.

Sydney is ‘really close friends’ with the whole Powell family, she added, and in particular Glen’s sister Leslie, a Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter, who was tying the knot.

The actress had apparently planned to attend the nuptials ‘a long time ago’ and RSVP’d with a plus-one, her best friend.

Powell’s mother added that rumors of Glen and Sydney dating are ‘silly’ and that there is ‘nothing going on behind closed doors.’

‘He’s the kindest person and he is so others-oriented. He loves his family, he loves his friends. And Sydney is a friend,’ she said. ‘They’ve been friends for so long. They’ve known each other for so long and they’ve both been single and together and with other people. 

‘They could have made anything happen that they wanted to at any point. But he’s got so many friends that care about him and he cares about, and he’s got a really nice group of friends that they kind of take care of each other. It’s really nice.’

Asked if she would like to see the two former co-stars date, Glen’s mom said: ‘That is none of my business. I just want what’s best for everybody.’

Sydney has a cavalcade of projects in the pipeline, including a return to her star-making show Euphoria, on which she plays Cᴀssie Howard.

She is slated to star in remake of the 1960s Jane Fonda classic Barbarella, and has already filmed a biopic of pioneering 1980s boxer Christy Martin.

The actress also recently wrapped a movie called The Housemaid alongside It Ends With Us actor Brandon Sklenar.

She is also signed to the role of Kim Novak in the film Scandalous! about the Old Hollywood icon’s romance with Sammy Davis Jr.
