Lorraine fans were left fuming after the presenter attempted a ‘painful and cringeworthy’ April Fool’s Day prank.
During Tuesday’s instalment of the ITV show, Scottish TV show host Lorraine Kelly, 65, took her love and dedication to her granddaughter Billie to the next level by getting her very first ‘tattoo’ live on air.
The star, who could be seen sat in a chair as her tattoo artist got to work, revealed to viewers at home: ‘I’ve decided to get my granddaughter’s name on my arm as mentioned earlier.
The TV presenter was then asked by her tattoo artist why she chose to get purple ink, to which she admitted: ‘I just like purple, and it’s roses favourite colour so it will be nice to remember Billie. The tattoo had to mean something.’
Later in the show, Lorraine revealed her new ‘tattoo’ to viewers and was greeted with a shock reaction from This Morning’s Ben Shephard, 50, and Cat Deeley, 48.
After the Spring Style Savers segment, Lorraine said: ‘It’s that time, It’s the moment of truth. It’s time to reveal my new tattoo.

‘It’s inspired of course by my granddaughter Billie. Glenn’s just finished it off, I have to say it was a lot more painful than I thought.’
Dr Amir Khan proceeded to remove Lorraine’s cover-up revealing a baby footprint tattoo which read the name ‘Billy’ underneath.
Appearing pleased with her new tattoo, Lorraine said: ‘What do you think I can’t see it?’ to which the presenters proceeded to compliment the stars ‘new tattoo’.
However, This Morning’s Ben noticed that something wasn’t quite right, saying: ‘Lorraine I’m just a little concerned about the tattoo looking at it. I’m right in saying you spell Billie with an “ie” don’t you?’
Lorraine replied: ‘Yeah we do,’ before quickly ‘realising’ that the tattoo artist had spelt the name incorrectly.
Appearing shocked, Lorraine said: ‘Oh jeez, oh no!’ as Ben replied: ‘So, I think they can sort it out can’t they? I think they can sort it out.’
Lorraine added: ‘Yes, I think Glenn does that doesn’t he? He fixes things.’
Appearing lost for words, Lorraine then raged: ‘Honestly, I’m off, I’ve had enough. Goodbye,’ before storming off the set.
