Geri Halliwell has officially changed her name on social media.

The former Spice Girl, 52, altered her surname on Monday night from Horner to Halliwell-Horner.

The move comes a year after her husband Christian had a highly-publicised Sєxting scandal.

The motor-racing guru was accused of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ by a female colleague at the start of February 2024 and the tranche of WhatsApp messages allegedly between him and the woman were leaked to the media, including 149 Formula 1 figures.

Geri staunchly stood by his side but the scandal was a difficult time for the couple, but later Christian, 51, was cleared of any wrongdoing after a three-week inquiry conducted by an external lawyer for the F1 team’s parent company Red Bull GmbH.

Now changing her Instagram handle to ‘gerihalliwellhorner’ – it appears this is the latest attempt from Geri to be more independent.

The changes comes after Geri addressed changing her name legally from Horner to Halliwell-Horner. Speaking to The Sunday Times, she said: ‘That’s a load of c**p. It’s my writing name. I haven’t legally changed anything — Horner is the name on my pᴀssport.’

As of this month, Geri will be embarking on a US book tour, starting in New York, to promote her latest book in her series Rosie Frost.

Also over the weekend, Christian shared a Mother’s Day message to his wife on Sunday.

Horner, who tied the knot with Geri in 2015, took to social media to post a throwback pH๏τo of his partner and his own mother, Sara, at a glitzy event.

‘Happy Mother’s Day to these two and to all mums out there,’ he wrote on Instagram.

‘Whether they are with you or not, I hope you manage to celebrate you and yours!’

The couple share son, Monty, eight, and Christian’s daughter, Olivia, eleven, from his previous relationship with Beverley Allen, a former pub landlady.

Geri also recently revealed that Christian has adopted her daughter Bluebell, 18, who she welcomed during a short-lived relationship with Sacha Gervasi, a journalist turned screenwriter and director.

The F1 season kicked-off in Australia earlier this month but Geri has yet to join her Red Bull Team Principal partner at the Melbourne or Chinese Grand Prix.

Instead Christian was seen giving wife Geri’s Spice Girls band mate Mel C a tour of the Red Bull garage in Australia.
